Watched the first ep last week and greatly enjoyed it (knowing nothing about the book), second ep is this evening.

Nice to see David Tennant getting to expand his acting skills (almost didn't recognize him) and I also liked the way most of the people looked; normal, natural.

I enjoyed the general plotline, story arc and most of the characters, so I'm going to continue to watch it until it shows me otherwise.

Has anyone else here watched it?

Yes, saw it when it was on the BBC here in Blighty. Enjoyed it a lot.

I think it was just a two parter. Possibly three?

It's a two parter, and yes it was good.

I saw it and thought it was good. As usual, the book is much better but they did a good job transferring the book to the screen.

If you liked the show, I highly recommend you read the book or any of Alan Furst's books. His novels are not flashy spy thrillers; they try to protray things realistically and their greatest strength is really evoking the mood of a particular place and time. Also, they deal with some of the more obscure but fascinating areas of WWII. The Polish Officer is probably my favorite.

Have both episodes of the recorder- for months, must get round to watching them.

Yes, saw it on the BBC. Also a fan of Alan Fursts various 30s/40s spy books, although they all usually seem to feature a middle aged hero with unfeasible pulling power.

My favourite ones were the two books covering the French film director, definitely a mini-series worth of stuff.

Not often you see Panzer IIs on TV, so good effort. My Polish re-enactor pals also applauded the uniforms.

I think they nailed "Polish crimson" down on the Polish Colonel's czapka.

Also saw it on the BBC excellent production.

It was interesting to see that the events in the second part were based on reality I never knew about (No – not WW2!)

And it was good to have a Spy story without banks of computers, underwater cars and wall to wall pyrotechnics.
