A woman in Nakhon Sri Thammarat province claims to have given birth to an egg.

Sopharat Phantharak, 36, from Village 5 in Mokhlan Subdistrict, has placed the miraculous object on a pedestal lined with white cloth and is inviting local villagers to come and pay their respects to it.

Mrs Sopharat, who is already a mother of four, claims that before the miraculous nativity she had a strange dream in which an angel gave her the egg, as well as the white cloth.

Maybe the chicken egg came from her FOWLopian Tubes.

In other news… It was reported that the Batmobile was seen, stuck on the side of the road, missing it's left front tire and hub.

Also, that criminal mastermind the Joker, escaped from the Arkham Federal Asylum for the Criminally insane. More at eleven…

Good grief. Every month or so, one of these "impossible birth" stories comes out of the Third World, taking advantage of the gullibility of those who know next to nothing about basic biology.

Remember the cat that gave birth to a dog? Or was it the other way around?

Mrs Sopharat has also placed a silver tray next to the object for villagers to leave money and gain merit.
Well, of course she has, bless her fraudulent little heart.

I'll believe it when the egg hatches and Carthoris emerges!

Why don't we just DNA test that egg and see if she laid it. Who witnessed that process anyways. If she claims this as truth, I have some ocean front property available for sale here in Montana.

Most true it is, I dare to say,
E'er since the Days of Eve,
The weakest Woman sometimes may
The wisest Man deceive.

The angel *gave* her the egg, along with the white cloth; he didn't impregnate her. So, who knows what DNA the egg contains. Maybe the angel gave her a chicken egg just to mess with us. Where's your vaunted biological and reproductive science now, foolish mortals!

But the story says she "gave birth" to the egg, which begs the question: Did the angel bring her the egg and the cloth, then – Ewwwww! Like loading a human musket!

"I am the angel Ramrod, and I bring you a precious gift!"

Why would anyone care enough to bother?
"Khao Sod confirmed that most villagers who saw the egg did not believe it was the result of Mrs Sopharat giving birth. "

And the police said it was a normal chicken egg.

The Tin Dictator08 Apr 2013 5:55 p.m. PST

WOW!
So you're saying she laid a normal chicken egg?
What are the odds of that?
More than 10:1 I'll wager.

I guess it answers the age-old question.
The egg comes first.

I am sure you could find videos of that on some of the more disreputable sites out there. grin

Just Google "ping pong balls." Or, on second thought, don't.

I just did and got nothing.
Maybe I better not refine my search…
