Take care when wandering the cold dark universe, there are things out there that go 'Gotcha!' in the night. Another planet that took a postprandial stroll around the neighborhood and was never seen or heard from again.

Poul Anderson wrote a fantastic story about a "demon", basically a "life form" that existed on pure energy, that was being sucked into a black hole. It was telepathically linked to a woman who…was badly lacking in social skills.
His death was very drawn out, due to that time-space thingie around black holes.
I believe the story ended with:
"As e'er beneath a waning moon was haunted
By woman wailing for her demon-lover! "

Damn that businessman from Porlock! grin

Uh uh. They can't fool me. It was Galactus. I read all about it in the comicbooks.

A black hole belches and everyone makes a big deal about it.

Yeah, but this time we caught it at it. grin

Wait a minute, I've often thought the OFM is three dimensional representation of a multidimensional wormhole. This 'farting' black hole could be the other end.

Having read the article I was stunned by the idea that the object "eaten" by the black hole was the mass of 14-30 Jupiters! I mean we know that black holes and novas, and suns in general are huge. But this was perhaps a planet??? Yeesh! I mean the gravitational well that thing had must have been enormous. Here it was wandering the universe thinking, "Hey I am the biggest, bad a…OH CRAP! There is always something bigger than you.

I hope it didn't have intelligent life – that would be a horrible thing to happen.

So, you're saying the experience would suck?
