I thought it was pretty good however Glen and Maggie are horrible shooters. I don't know if they were just trying to scare them but their shooting was terrible.

In the end, the governor made up for it, so it was a wash.

I agree on their marksmenship. Thought there would be many more bodies with such close range and automatic weapons.

Its TV.

Sorry to see the main character go that died, but not surprised by it.

Glad to see another character is going to most likely be around in Season 4.

Didn't have any problem with Carl doing what he did. In fact I yelled it at the screen to do it a second before. When you are given an order in a situation like that, you should comply instantly.

Otherwise, there are consequences.

Really enjoyed Season 3. Will pick it up on DVD to add to my collection and very much looking forward to Season 4.

The storyline has pretty thoroughly veered off from the comics now and, at least as far as the stuff with the Governor and Woodbury I prefer how the TV version played out.
I never liked (the character who died)… so I'm happy that annoying element is gone.

It was pretty good, I thought. Although I was a little skeptical at the group's non-violent approach to dealing with the Governor's troops at the prison. Clearly, they were deliberately not killing them, just trying to scare them off as if they knew that they would then mutiny against the Governor. If they'd really intended to kill them they could have set up a real slaughter down in the tomes and used fragmentation grenades (there was a whole crate of them at that fellow's refuge a few episodes ago) instead of smoke and flash-bang grenades. And then maybe lock some of the doors once the troops had gone inside so they couldn't get out again. Maggie and Glen were certainly not shooting to kill as the people come fleeing out.

That was a real risk. What if the Governor had managed to rally them and come back again?

And why was Andrea wasting SO MUCH time chatting with Milton when every second counted?

But the ending was okay. A whole new batch of people for next season and the governor still on the loose to provide a threat and a nemisis.

But WHY did all the Woodbury folks move to the prison instead of vice-versa? Woodbury was at least as secure and a whole lot more comfortable--at least with the Governor gone.

Let down….

combatpainter Fezian01 Apr 2013 9:39 a.m. PST

It needed another hour…Too many commercials

Ditto Tango 2 301 Apr 2013 10:28 a.m. PST

Oh geez not another hour. It went 5 minutes into game of thrones opener!

Great episode. What happened after the attack kind of shocked me.

I thought the episode had its ups and downs.

Like others, I wish they had set up a true ambush as the prison is made for it, they could have wiped out the whole lot of them.

But the Governor did that for them; the last guy he popped made no sense to me as he had his gun drawn and aimed, once the governor raised that pistol to shoot him, he could have easily taken him out, but I guess that would not have been a dramatic enough way to kill off the governor.

So now the governor gets to hang around and be annoying for at least a part of season four.

Carl had every right to shoot that kid, he was told to drop the weapon and he did not, was trying to hand it to Carl, who knows if he was going to try to shoot there.

I found it ironic that Rick has pretty much been against allowing new people into his group, including several that could have been useful to him, yet he opens the prison up to women, children and AARP members, they had better go back to town and stock up on supplies as winter is coming.

Glad to see Tyrese is now part of the group, I like his character very much, will be interesting to see how he develops next season……….

Yeah, the guy with the AK-47 would have wasted the Governor. After all, he wasn't one of the long-time population of Woodbury, he came with Tyrese. The other people I could see not fighting back: the Governor was their savior, this must be some sort of mistake! He can't be shooting us! And I certainly can't shoot back at him! Jim Jones, etc. But that other guy, he would have had no such thoughts. The Guv was clearly insane and was clearly going to shoot him. So why not shoot first?

And yeah, Carl did the right thing. The look on the kid's face said it all: he was going to try something. Carl saw it and shot him. I would have done the same thing in his place.

But who the Devil is "Andrew"?????? Carl tells Rick that he should have killed him but didn't and that's why Lorie died. Huh?? What did I miss? My kids, who are much more avid fans than me couldn't figure that out either. Is Carl having visions, too, now?

Space Monkey01 Apr 2013 11:42 a.m. PST

I think they set up the guy (the one who failed to shoot the Governor) as having choked at moments of decision in the past… he talked tough but wasn't really action man when it counted.
Tyrese was a frontline character in the comic from early and I'd wondered why they hadn't brought him in… so nice to see him on board finally.

I couldn't recall 'Andrew' either, was he one of the inmates they found… did he let the zombies in?

Coffee Fiend01 Apr 2013 12:00 p.m. PST

Andrew was the prisoner who let the walkers in hat killed Lori and T-Dog and tried to kill Rick.

Overall, I liked this season finale, although I agree that was a horrible ambush. I'm glad to see that the Governor can still be around for another season.

skinkmasterreturns01 Apr 2013 12:14 p.m. PST

I was waiting for one of the Guvners people to shoot him, although that hasnt happened all season, despite multiple chances.Seems that the writers dont want to let him go,which can only mean one thing.

Ron W DuBray01 Apr 2013 2:04 p.m. PST

don't know I need to see it on netflix first.

Oddball01 Apr 2013 7:43 p.m. PST

Had a conversation about the guy who had the AK on the Gov.

Why didn't he fire?

We came up that in his mind pointing the weapon at the Gov to get him to stop shooting his own people would be enough. The guy just wasn't a killer.

But, the Gov is and took him out without a blink of an eye. (get it, eye joke about the Gov. Ok, I won't quit my day job).

It is one thing to point a weapon at another living being, it is quite another to take that next step and pull the trigger.

I liked the episode, but for once I wish they would show rounds ricocheting in a prison cell or other room where the walls are solid concrete. Wouldn't that be a great way to show a character inadvertently injuring or killing a friendly?

How many times have we seen a large group of characters in a concrete room or corridor blasting away without restraint on full auto, but not one single ricochet?

John Leahy Sponsoring Member of TMP02 Apr 2013 11:48 a.m. PST

It was a solid season finale. It did have its good and not so good points. The defense of the prison started well with the ambush. But disintegrated after that with a non realistic non-fatal result. Rallying the routers would have been the most likely result and probably have cost Rick and crew several lives from their group. The Gov's reaction seemed stretched beyond credulity. He's all about power and control. I could see him killing one or two folks but not all of them. I also can't believe the remaining henchmen wouldn't just have killed him.

My biggest question is did Rick and crew loot Woodbury for food, ammo, etc. before they left it? Otherwise, all those new folks will starve.

The Carl killing was made to appear somewhat ambiguous. The guy seemed to be very slow in dropping the weapon and possibly poised to try something. Given that, Carl did the required thing.

Andrea had little left to offer the show. Many deaths could be attributed to her inaction and waffling about eliminating the Gov. Her death was penance. The Gov can only snipe now. He has no power base and is clearly mad.

I look forward to next season.

Thanks,

John

If I was Martinez or that other guy, I'd pop the Governor the first time I had a good shot. Ypu know you're not safe around him. And what with his actions, he made sure he doesn't have anything left to offer you. Loyalty only goes so far.

ScottWashburn Sponsoring Member of TMP03 Apr 2013 5:05 a.m. PST

Yeah, Martinez and the other guy will start having second thoughts real soon. Up until now that had it great. They got to swagger around as the Guv's chief lieutenants, got to shoot stuff in a relatively safe fashion, and still live in luxury at Woodbury. After a few weeks of wandering in the wilderness, in terror every second both from walkers and the Governor, they will either kill him or just run off when he's not looking.

Tango01 Supporting Member of TMP03 Apr 2013 11:01 a.m. PST

I like it very much.
Agree with much propaganda and that Carl did well.
I had no doubt that the invasor kid want to made a move.
Also agree that it would be better to stay at the town and not at the jail.

Why they don't pick up the truck and the other vehicles?

September? A looong waiting.

I don't think Andrea is dead, her friend really just left her in the room. She was bitten by Milton, who was working on some type of cure, which didn't save hin from truning but will save Andrea and she will nolonger be infected. Andrea is going to be very impotant to everybody! Well that what my little senile brain came up with!!

Well Oldbob she was the best looking one on the show. She was important to me. I hated to see her go.
