Aren't the LCS really just drone platforms with point defenses? If they are trying to go one on one with DDs someone is doing something wrong. |

When did they bring back dazzle camouflage? (And man, is that a bad paint job
) |

The corrosion issues on the trimaran puzzle me. If they've bond aluminium to steel they're foolish. If they've used a mag alloy on a marine environment they're crazy. I've listened to mag alloy disolve after immersion in seawater. Hearing a helicopter disolve is creepy. |

He's not playing the total party line. It will be real work to put major weapons on the ship." So, pointing out flaws is not towing the party line, and there are problems giving a warship weapons? I can see why the US Navy has to be so much bigger than everyone elses

The Navy has never been one for fixing problems promptly, look at the issue with torpedos in WWII. Like all defense projects, it starts out with good intentions and then falls vicitim to the career aspirations of middle managers ('yes, I know this won't work, but we've got to sign off on it or it will fall behind schedule/go over budget/both and I won't make Admiral. The next guy can fix it.'). It's amazing when we actually come up with a winner. |

When did they bring back dazzle camouflage?
When they got embarrassed about the unsightly soot stains from the diesel generator exhausts. The only thing being camouflaged is a pair of stains on each side of the hull, which the black camo splinters conveniently cover
. ;-)

Missile, torpedo and mine suckers for DDs and larger

Wow, that looks like a really bad place to put exhaust ports, especially if the vessel runs into heavy swells or high seas. But what do I know, being a civilian more comfortable in canoes and day sailers. I suspect the placement is a stealth issue? |

looks like a really bad place to put exhaust ports they said the same thing about the "death star" |
