Apparently, it's for a body of work, and not that specifically. |

It's a shame that the flap is over the whole topic and not the word. We never taught our kids euphamistic words for body parts (we figured the other kids at school would have that covered), so I was always primed for that call from school about the use of an anatomy word that "offended" someone. I was also prepared to go down a list of alternate terms until we could find one to agree on. :) |

Pshaw
there are idiots that still snicker over the word REGINA. Our Space Ship is getting dumber and dumber every year. Sometime's I think we were the second Life Pod Ship sent out
you know, the one with phone sanitization technicians, mid-level managers and beauticians. Come to think of it, the Taliban could use some beauticians, they still can't get that henna dye job on their beards right after how many centuries! |

If, as he says, it's straight from the school approved text book this is a non-story. Actually, it's a non-story even if it isn't. A Woman has a vagina and a man has a penis. Both have arms. And legs, and heads. It's the name of a body part – what was he supposed to call it ? |

An Idaho biology teacher is reportedly being probed by a state commission after parents complained he used the word "vagina" during a lesson on the human reproductive system. Oooooooh-K. |

Andrew, I fully agree with you. It seems in our ongoing search for whatever, we have put into office the dumbest people we can find and abrogated our responsibility to ourselves by bowing down to them and saying "Lead us oh less than intelligent". |

My reading on the story suggested that a contributing factor is his discussion of the female orgasm
and the suggestion that sex might be good for something other than procreation. |

Good for him that he has refused to sign any letter of reprimand. Somebody needs to go and smack the stupid out of the moronic parents that objected so strenuously to teaching actual biology. It may take a LOT of smacks, too! 8)= |

Of course their precious innocent little ones use a coarser word for those body parts. Kind of makes me think of the how you don't want to think of your parents engaged in
.well you know. And these are Juniors in HS. If they don't know what's what by now

Let's call the whole thing off Wouldn't calling it Henrietta be a bit more attractive, instead? |
