Yep the Russian car crash compilations are my guilty pleasure. I clearly NEVER want to have to drive in Russia.

…because of course these sorts of accidents never occur in other countries… ;-)

Been in and out of cars in Russia and Ukraine for the last 10 years. I have yet to see one of these accidents. Not saying they don't occur, but 'captured on camera and compiled' is not necessarily the same thing as 'happening every 10 seconds'. :-)

Geoff – you don't say…!? And here was me thinking that was a serious documentary about an ordinary day on Russian roads.

OK Geoff you got me there. grin

Having recently just driven back from the Washington DC area I lost track of how many near hits I almost had due to drivers not paying attention and trying to cut me off on the highways. Plus on the way up and on the way back I had considerable delays due to major accidents. On the way up a truck had jackknifed on Highway 81 and on the way back a car pulling a travel trailer had struck another vehicle and both had flipped over and spun off the road.

In fact watching these videos has me considering buying a camera for my own dashboard.

Actually these are installed in Russia to prove liability for insurance purposes. Their presence means you are seeing lots of footage.

…but they are rather addictive viewing. :-)

Try googling driving in Dubai as well. (I lived and drove out there too) ;-)

Actually, I think I must get one of those before I take my next major driving vacation. It's kind of cool imagery to have.
