link Hard to argue with anything by Meatloaf being up there, but only #23? should be much higher. |

Man, there are MUCH more condescending and demeaning songs that should have been on that list. If Bobby Goldsboro's "Honey" made the list, then surely Paul Anka's "Havin Muh Baybuh" should be there, too: YouTube link That video by elenavanelly is cheesily great, too. I especially like the shot of the big naked pregnant belly encircled by a daisy-chain. |

Fun list, but I agree there were many more deserving songs left off the list. And I think having Allison on the list is a bit of a stretch. I never considered it a love song, more like a sour grapes kind of song. |

Well, couldn't get past 15, popdust kept freezing up. However, if there are no country songs on it then it is not the worst 25. Living in Oklahoma I had my fill of dime store cowboys singing schmarmy songs of the 'Oh, hell, I'm just a good ol' boy, so don't mind if I treat you like the stuff I scrape off my boots at night and run around with any thing that will hold still long enough form me to rope, tie and 'brand' it, just hustle yer sweet little self off into the kitchen and make me some grub, cause I love you.' |

Bruce has done much worse than Thunder Road "Reno" on Devils and Dust is just lovely – such a beauty of a song. Google the lyrics. And she wasn't even that good, he lets us know at the end. |

Streitax, I noticed that, too: No country songs. But that would have made the list too easy. Good call on Springsteen, 20thmaine. My pick would be "Nebraska": Sheriff, when the man pulls that switch, sir, and snaps my poor head back, You make sure my pretty baby is sittin' right there on my lap. Cold! |

Those are just horrible songs period, with a few exceptions. I do like how the writer, after misspelling "Alison", goes on to misquote the lyrics twice. Great song, but as Texas Jack points out, not really a love song. "Always A Woman" is brilliant because, besides having a great melody, it is so clear-eyed and honest. People pay lip service to the idea that real love means accepting all the faults and shortcomings of one's partner. Billy Joel wrote a song about it. |

"that would have made the list too easy" Except you would have to listen to them all to get proper rankings. |

Are we calling pop songs to the carpet for inexcusable lyrics now? Cause there's no reason to stop at one reason, and less reason to stop at twenty five

And there's even worse stuff not on this particular list. |
