Weta Workshops is working on a new Thunderbirds TV series for 2015 release.

As long as they don't let Jonathan Frakes anywhere near it.

Could be good, but probably won't.

Truthfully the original wasn't that "good" either.
Watching it now, it just doesn't seem as exciting as I remembered. frown

My 6 year old son loves it. I think the kids enjoy the show due to them being able to suspend disbelief better than us adults.

I still enjoy the shows from a model making stand point. Great sets and more

Yeah, a big chunk of what I love about all the old Andersonverse shows are the models and puppets… the look of the thing.
Fat chance they're gonna go that route in a remake… so right there it drops a big chunk of what draws my interest.
The Frakes had that dumb 'the kids are in charge' thing that also sapped any interest I would have had. Even as a kid I would have found that to be kind of lame.

"Thunderbirds Are Go! will broadcast on ITV in 2015 and will feature CGI animation and live-action model sets."

Why not just CGI the whole thing? Maybe it's me, but getting live actors and actresses to perform something that "suspended our belief" as kids might look, well, "goofy".

Maybe they will do it like the South Park guys did Team America?

My son loved it as well (spend most of 2010 trawling car boot sales for the toys).

Personally I was never a fan and actually enjoy it more now than when I was a kid. What I like now is that the rescues take a realistic amount of time, none of this making Spitfires ready for space and launching in 2 hours rubbish.

Hope it is as good as the Captain Scarlet remake

"Hope it is as good as the Captain Scarlet remake"

Was that sarcastic? :)

I just hope ITV doesn't screen it the way they did THAT one . . .
