Hi guys what is creative commons? and how do I tell if a picture is free or copyright? Is there anything embedded in the picture that would tell me? I have to do an assignment, creating a leaflet about research ethics. I need to use pictures or images I create myself. So I need to make sure anything I use is ethical
by searching google images for 'Ethics' and 'Creative Commons' I have found three pictures I like (shown below), but how can I tell if they are CC? I also have to provide a link for what I use, so I need to make sure that any checked link will verify the CC. link link link btw, the last one I really like, but would need to change the words to suit my topic. if it is CC, can anyone change the words for me? you would get credit in my assignment. Thanks Jacqueline |

I could change the words in that last one easily enough with Photoshop
or I could redraw it from scratch, same idea, different drawing
to avoid any conundrums. |

The CC License site is here: creativecommons.org If the image you want to use is under a CC license, it should be marked with one of the symbols for the license which will tell you generally what you can do with it and allow you to look up (in excruciating detail) what you can do with it. |

But check local laws. You refer to an assignment, and there is often an exemption for education use anyway. |
