So I bought my computer some 4 years ago, and have upgraded it now and then, more ram, new 3d cards ect, but there has been a generation change, so I now needed everything totaly new.

So I spent my christmas money and some saved up money, Got a new motherboard, new 3d card, new ram, new cpu, new harddrive and new dvd rom.

I have a perfectaly good cabinet, so I just ripped out the old stuff and put in the new stuff.

You got ripped off. I got a complete state of the art system, fully built and delivered to my door less than a year ago for about $900. USD

I guess stuff is REALLY expensive in Norway?

No, actualy computer stuff is very cheap in norway, one of the few cheap tings here, I just buy all top of the line stuff.

I was thinking the same thing … I read the PC rags and they list the prices to build systems piece by piece (I admit, its mostly window-shopping and dreaming of a powerful gaming rig on my part, but I do read the tech section looking at prices).

That much money for those parts seems a lot of cash… is it import duties that drive up the price, or just profiteering like the Australia markup?

Sergeant Paper28 Dec 2012 10:08 a.m. PST

Ah, you bought quality parts. That'll do it. I'm too hamfisted to play twitch games any more, so I buy commodity hardware and last-year's videocard.

My 3d card cost the same here as on amazon, so hard to beat price.
