I have a cell phone which I use for business.
At least 4 times a day I get a call from an 876 area code.
It is always the same voices, wanting me to claim a prize.
It is also different from numbers from within that area code.
It is extreemely annoying to be talking with a customer and get one of these calls.

I have a Verizon plan, with a Samsung Intensity phone.

First, is my phone capable of blocking select numbers? I ran through all of the menus, and can't find anything.
If it can, I NEED detailed instructions.

Can it block the 876 area code?

Can it block RESTRICTED phone numbers?

It's too bad cell phones are not included on the "Do not call" lists that land lines have. Or had, since they don't seem to be blocking what they used to.

Please do not tell me that this has become a 1st Ammendment issue. grin

Maybe call Verizon and ask? :) I know it is more fun here but….

My daughter had an issue with harrassing calls to her
cell 'phone from a guy. I called Verizon and they
blocked the numbers from which he was calling (his
'phone and his mother's 'phone). I believe up to five
numbers can be blocked.

The block was good for, IIRC, 45 days, after which it
could be renewed ONCE. Following that, there was a
charge.

She finally got a restraining order, which included
'phone calls.

With my sprint account I can log in and add the number to my personal block number list. There is a limit of 50, but at least I don't have to call anyone. I am sure my Verizon account has the same, just have not needed it yet.

There is an option to block numbers on the Verizon
website, up to 5 at a time.

I didn't want to deal with the process, so I just
called and asked them to do, especially since it
was another of their subscribers causing the
disturbance.
