none other than Babbage's Analytical Engine: link I hope they manage to pull it off. |

I thought this was going to be about Windows 8! |

A day late and a dollar short as they say. Mechanical analog computers and Baggage Difference Engines have been built and operated for years. I lake the comment about Windows 8. I tried to use it on a computer at Best Buy the other day and simply walked away after it frustrated me. I won't upgrade if for no other reason that reports are already rolling in about commonly used software, Quicken for example, that is incompatible. Looks to me like it has all the earmarks of another Windows Me fiasco. |

You are incorrect, XRay. The Difference Engine is not the same as the Analytical Engine; the former has been built, but no complete version of the latter has ever been constructed. |

I stand corrected--you are, indeed, corect. |
