This morning I woke up breathing (always a good sign), It's a bright sunny day, my hands are working reasonably well and the postie has just delivered some Hasslefree goodies. So help me put together a playlist for a good day while I give Sebastian a standard and figure out how to give Tiriel a pole axe so they can lead my Perry Men at Arms against the Fairie host.

Great music, guys!

But when I get out of a super hot, arthritic relieving shower in the morning:

I'm a simple fellow. Here's a simple song:

the song starts around 1.30. One of my fave happy songs at the moment.

and some music from my current passion. I only found this music (late renaissance/early baroque) about 6 mths ago, but I swear, if I believed in re-incarnation, I close my eyes and it takes me somewhere else. I get little pictures and images in my find. The music fills me with joy, it makes my soul dance,

but for something a bit heavier

Nice selection Mrs Pumblechook except for Bill Bailey's "Scarborough Fair". Bill I usually like, Rammstein too but YouTube link is how 'Scarborough Fair' should sound. Also have a listen to YouTube link and say what you think.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I enjoyed them all.

A good day comes to an end. Sebastian works well as the standard bearer primed and ready to be painted but Tiriel isn't working for me yet.

I'll put up a song to a man's true love and retire

Lol 42, I have that album.

I think I will make it one of my summer projects to translate that

and this song into English.

This second one, the Palästinalied, is sung in high middle German. I have the modern German translation and an English trans of the 1st 6 verses. So its time for someone do do a full English one.

Mrs Pumblechook

Palästinalied has been a firm favourite of mine for a long time. I have a pretty long play list of different versions of it. With the English translation you have, be careful to make sure it is the first six verses and not the six verses sung on a particular recording, when doing your own translation. I know, from experience, that you can be seriously thrown if you assume 1 to 6 when you actually have 1,2,3,7,8 and 13.
