When I switched to my new computer, I had to transition from Quattro (free on my old system) to MS Excel (the free-with-advertising version). In a spreadsheet I use regularly, I find that Excel automatically "corrects" my capitalization. For example, if I type "BBegg" it corrects it to "Bbegg". How do I make it stop? |

I think it is under Options Spelling or AutoCorrect |

On an aside, have you thought about Open Office? When I got my new laptop it came with the MS Office Lite. I quickly grew tired of the ads and switched to Open Office and have been quite happy. It is decidedly old school, but thatīs great because I am too! |

Kingsoft is also quite good. Thanks, John |

Another for Openoffice or Libre Office (A derivative I think). Both work very well and are very similar to MS Office. FREE! |

Tools:Options:Spelling:Autocorrect Options:Correct TWo INitial CApitals It's kinda cute that they did TWINCA in the option to correct them. Open Office and Kingsoft (both of which I use on various platforms) don't have this problem
yet. MS doesn't do this because they feel like it. It is implemented because people sent feedback like "Can't you guys just automatically
" Apple is actually worse at this – bending to the will of lazy [expletive deleted] who don't want to do things for themselves. I keep having a harder and harder time actually doing anything in a way different from that of most people. </RANT> |

I remember Quattro! I didn't realize it was still being published/used. I switched to Excel due to work and have never looked back. |

Excel has some nasty habits as far as auto correcting your data based on what it thinks it should be. Many of those habits you can't easily turn off. |
