The new GW Dark Vengeance painting guide is only available on Ipad, I can use I-tunes to download it to my home computer but I dont know if I will be able to read it.

Does anybody know if you can read the DV painting guide on home computers?

I don't think so. I have others that type GW stuff on my Ipad and have not been able to view them on anything else.

I think you should have no problem reading the guide if you open iTunes, then go to your library and open the article from there. If it's free, then it;s worth a try. If it cost, then a test would be in order.

One nay response, one yea response and both of those only think but do not know for sure!!!

Curse you GW for doing this to us!!!

I even called the ATT teck guy and he didn't know for sure. I would have to pay for it so I would like to know for sure.

From what I'v found out I should be able to down load it using Itunes but I might not be able to read it with out a Ipad, what I think x42 refers to as viewing.

45 what do you mean by "open iTunes, then go to your library and open the article from there" what library?
How would I test it?

I have given it another go and cannot run any of my GW Ipad books on my computer. They all have parts that are not text or pictures, Things like 360degree look arounds and other interaction stuff designed for the Ipad so don't run on anything else.

I download first to the computer Itunes anyway and they don't run.

Just tried the sample of DV Painting guide and it has all the features that depend on Ipad to work finger squeeze to from page to chapter over picture ect. even if you could load it to a computer it would be pretty useless without Ipad's way of working and I can't get it to show on my computer.

Unlike other ebooks I've downloaded via the iBooks store, the Dark Vengeance painting guide has a .ibook file extension, so it's not simply a text file with a fancy wrapper.

Also, the iTunes Books library is different to the Music Library – it only allows you to fiddle with the metadata tags,it won't work as an ebook reader. If you double-click a PDF file it'll open it in Acrobat, but that's it.

Seems they can only be read with a ipad.

A earlier topic topic mentions a refurbished ipad 2, I would think the GW articles could be read using that?

Just looked at the other topics link, they're asking 579 that doesn't seem fairly cheap as the post states.

Have talked to the tech guy at the Apple 800 # and there is no way to see the GW e-books with out a iPad.

You can by them and down load them to your home computer but you can not read them.

He suggested buying it and going to a Apple store to use one of their demo pads and send screen shots to my home computer.
