"MILITARY snipers are competitive types. There is an ongoing and grisly contest between them to see who can kill an enemy soldier from the farthest distance away…."

I would think that true snipers would frown on such a gadget, thinking it comparable to baseball players taking steroids.

Yeah the new records will have an asterisk. And now, for the $64,000 USD question, 'How much does one of those bullets cost?'

I don't know. I don't remember thinking that using a TOW or Dragon missile on a tank as cheating. War aint a sport. Now if we were talking about an international competition like the Olympics things would be different.
As to the cost. It's almost certain to be less than the cost of a military funeral plus survivors benefits.

If you are keepig score and records, it''s a sport.

StarfuryXL507 Sep 2012 7:25 p.m. PST

If they get caught cheating, will their record be vacated?

Smart bullets. Okay, that is cool.

I think that's great!

While in the service we would sometimes use the old phone company jingle "Long distance, it's the next best thing to being there." Actually, it's more like talking to the Mother in law on the phone. Long distance, it's so much better than being there.

All good except that neither of the two Regiments that make up the Household Cavalry have the rank of corporal per se.

They have Lance Corporals, Lance Corporals of Horse and Corporals of Horse. They even have a Regimental Corporal Major of Horse and a couple of Regimental Quartermaster Corporals. Craig Harrison is a Corporal of Horse (CoH) in the Blues and Royals, i.e. what would be called a Serjeant in the Rifles.

Just saying like ;-)

As a long time long range shooter I will say it is sport and that those of us who aren't getting to play are and have always been envious of those who are getting to play.
