Used to use freewebs.com but that has changed to webs.com and it sucks.

Any suggestions on a free webpage builder, using templates, that is easy to use?

Really looking to make a simple webpage to post various wargaming articles of mine for folks to download.

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks,
Mark

Blogger is extremely easy, if you are ok with it looking like a blog.

Google sites is only slightly less easy, but offers a bit more flexibility

I use weebly for my site. You can have up to 2 sites for free. You can assign domain names to them for free, upload unlimited files (max of 5mb each), unlimited bandwidth. You can upgrade to a paid for account but I have had no reason to yet.

Its very easy to use and has plenty of templates.

weebly.com

I use Yola.com for the miniature company. you drag and drop the widgets for text, photos, ect and add what you want. They also have a blog function if that is your thing. pre-made templates are provided. I just found something close to what I wanted and altered it.

Sites are free unless you want something added like custom domains.

Notepad and WS_FTP?

That's what I use, except am using WinSCP now.

I would love to find anything (don't care if I have to pay for it) that would be much better than notepad and I don't care if I have to pay for it. I don't want to be tied into a specific site like the blog offerings.

Notepad++ notepad-plus-plus.org is great as a text editor for code. It has built in features that help you to organize the code, like if you highlight a block of text, it will show if the same text is elsewhere, so you can easily find your opening and closing pairs of tags.
