Well, even if ther is not much surf on the Susquehanna river or Harvey's Lake, we could still enjoy some good surfer music in NEPA.
This one was always my favorite. Pipeline!

But as long as it is INSTRUMENTAL guitar surfer music, there is no wrong answer.

A classic. Didn't matter if you were in California or Kansas, everybody loved surfer music.

Dick Dale for the win.

"Surfing Bird", of course. Technically it's not an instrumental, but really, he's using his voice as an instrument:

I like all kinds of surf music, but Dick Dale wins hands down.

I have about a dozen CDs of surfer music. Love that surf guitar!

I'd probably have to go with "Misirlou" by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones: YouTube link

I was a fan *way* before Tarantino used it in "Pulp Fiction," but I have to admit I had a big grin on my face when it started playing in the theater.

I had forgetten about the band The Moonrays!

Great combo of horror and surf.

Thanks for the link to the Gastly Ones!

I love The Ghastly Ones… discovered them through the Rob Zombie channel on Live365.
Dick Dale is a great one as well.

… and Martin Denny for after a hard day of surfing, at the Tiki bar.

Thanks for the info on the Ghastly Ones. I'm definitely going to have to look these guys up!

What, no fans of the Beach Boys?

jpattern204 Aug 2012 9:29 p.m. PST

The Beach Boys had amazing harmonies and sang some excellent surfing songs, both originals and covers, but, personally speaking, I still think of them as more pop than true surf.

I do love me some "Good Vibrations," though.
