FireEye, working with Russian CERT-GIB and Spamhaus, found each of these new CnC servers, took a heavy-handed approach in working with Russian ISPs and domain registrars, and took them down as of 11am PT this morning
Too bad that "take them down" didn't include "take out the scumbags who run it". A true heavy-handed approach should have included rocket launchers, tanks and airstrikes. I don't like spam much. I dislike spammers even more. Yay for the forces of Good and Sanity! |

My local ISP filters all my email and I can't think of the last time I got any spam in my account. I do occasionally get good email dumped into my Junk mail folder but I just set the rule to allow. My yahoo account is another story though most go into the SPAM folder. Terry |

You guys would be amazed at the level of spam emails that are sent to and discarded by corporate networks. Our company isn't that large or well known and we get almost 1 million emails a month. 75-80% of them are classified as spam by our filtering tool and discarded. That's a lot of canned meat. |
