I watched the 2 hour season opener last night. Twice. Ouch. Once by myself and again when my wife came home later in the evening. I found it a bit hard to follow at first, but then in the second viewing, things began to fall into place. I thought that it was a bit of a let down. It needs more JR Ewing and less of the other cast. I realize that it is a soap opera, but it seemed like EVERYONE in the family was backstabbing one another from the get go. It would have been better to cut out some of the side show backstabbings. I don't think that I will watch the rest of the series. It falls short of a better primetime soap – Revenge, which has better character development and plot lines. |

Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, and (I think) Linda Gray are reprising their old roles. |

Many of the old cast members returned, but some were in mere cameos. It was a genuine couple of episodes of Dallas, and for better or worse it had all of the familiar elements. I think the young new cast members will determine whether or not it succeeds or fails. It probably couldn't make it on a prime time network, but it might survive on cable for a while. Patrick Duffy had enough gravitas to carry his scenes OK but it might be time for Larry Hagman to hang up his hat. And I am a big Larry Hagman fan. |

I thought I watched it but then while taking a shower, I realized it was just a dream. Who shot JR?! |

I never even saw one of the original episodes, but my wife was a fan when the show was on. I watched it, I figured if my wife can handle going to gaming conventions with me, I can watch Dallas with her. It is two hours of my life I will never get back. It was interesting to see some of the original cast members, Charlene Tilton did not age well I am sorry to say

I saw it. Parts were good, parts were pure soap opera stick. Hot women all over the place. Might watch a couple more but I don't see me getting sucked in. |

Saw bits as pieces as my wife remote-hopped around last night— enough to get the gist. Never was a fan to begin with, won't become one now. I did think the old hands handled their parts like pros, even Hagman. The young cast, aside from the girl from Chuck and J.R. Jr., were largely forgettable. Other than that it was pure melodrama saddled with a touchy-feely "I'm doing it for the environment" PC overlay. Meh. |
