Released at 1900 today, legend of grimrock is a new version og old school rpgs, you are 4 prisoners in the dungen of grimrock, everybody that enters the dungen are forgiven thier crimes, the problem, nobody ever gets out of it.

You meet, flying things, huge snails, evil mushrooms, dead knights ect.

The game uses tiles, so each move to the right or left, moves you a whole tile, you control the whole company at the same time, you move them in formation, two infront two in the back, those in front take most of the punishment, those in the back can not fight in mele, so the normal fighting formation is two mele characters infront, a mage and a ranged character in the back, or two mages ect.
The game is set in a huge dungen with lots of secrets, some of the walls have secret buttons to push. The level system is simple.

You only have 3 classes, fighter, rouge and mage, but you also got special skills,
You have 3 races, human, minotaur, and insctoid. The insectoid are fantastic mages, the minitaur does what it does best, fight with mele.

Each attack takes a little while to come back, so you have to cycle through the four characters, Attack with one mele, then the other mele, throw a dagger, send a fire ball, and by that time, hopefully the first mele is back in action, the magics, are done with runes, you select a rune or runes, then use them, the first basic attack is fireball, it only used one rune, and can be used at just level 2 fire magic skills, as the rules become more and more complicated, the higher the skill you need and the better they are.

Take a look

I just finished the 3rd level, not a level you want to play if you have arachonphobia, it starts easy, but then you run into a layer of spider, huge spiders, and they corner you, if you just fight one at the time, it's ok, but if you get two at a time, you are in serious trouble, if you meet 3, you are dead.

I spent one hour finishing the first two level, I spent 2 hours finishing just the 3rd level.

Fantastic game…definitely a way to do the old Dungeon Master justice :) Fantastic graphics for what it is. The lighting effects are amazing. The puzzles are mostly spatial as you might expect. It's a fairly light weight program and can run in windows mode if you aren't supposed to be playing it at the time…

Yes, this is really a small masterpiece, the game is only 650mb, I havn't seen a modern game less then 1500 mb in years, let alone less then 1000mb.

There are so many screts, I was on level 4, and found out I had missed lots of secrets, so I went back and spent another hour just trying to find more secrets on the first 3 levels, and still I havn't found all of them.

I did find a totaly diffrent level 4, on level 3, there is a secret stair down to a secret part of level 4, that is sparate from the rest of the level, there you mean evil globs og goo, and you have to fight your way past them I spent an hour just getting past 8 of those things, I finnaly did it, and opened a secret door, and found an awesome cross bow.
