Heroscape: Road to the Forgotten Forest

It's a terrain expansion for Heroscape, but will non-Heroscape gamers be attracted by the trees?

Well, I hadn't heard of that one. And I'm not all that certain a wierd plastic teddy bear face is all that reassuring on the battlefield, unless you already know this thing is going to carry you out of harm's way. Otherwise it looks like a demented cross between a Terminator and one of those mangled monstrosity's from Sid's house in Toy Story.

Still, impressive bit of tech if they ever get a truly operational one completed. Could save a lot of lives.

(Any body besides me think it's a little creepy that the company name is "Vecna"? If they offer you a cybernetic eye, ask about the side effects! grin)

Tight doorways and stairs aren't a problem for this Bear.

It just crushes the wounded guy to fit him through!

From the company's site ( link ):

"Founded in 1999 by MIT alumni, Vecna Technologies…"

MIT? I'll bet you dollars to doughnuts those guys all played D&D…

BTW, laugh The robot already has "manoeuvrable hands"…. TWO of them!!!

There was a story about this device on the Science
channel, a segment actually, in an hour program on
military robots.

Interesting.
