I updated my antivirus subscription and now my laptop is a paperweight. It works on the same principle of cutting off one's package to protect yourself from STD's.

So download Security Essentials from Microsoft( free!) and and then get uninstall Trend if you don't like it that much.

Use either Microsoft Security Essentials or AVGfree.

The most virus-like programs I've run into have all been anti-virus programs. I have not had problems with Microsoft Security Essentials, so that is a good recommendation.

If you want one that you pay for, ESET NOD32 is good.
