Well, I posted this under Employment Opportunities because there is an opening at L.A. County Department of Internal Services. link This story falls in line with the game I've seen played at HMGS Conventions, "Day of the Corporate Zombies". A woman, 51, employed by LA County, died while working at her computer in her cubicle, but nobody noticed for a full day. She was discovered the following morning. I'm sure this is very sad for her family, but what does it say about the work place and interaction with her co-workers that she was last seen alive at 9am the previous morning? One person commented on the news story that it is difficult to tell the difference between corpses and most county employees in his part of the country. I'm not going to make any comments on that. |

My sister in law's mother worked at a hospital in Lynwood,Ca. She had a mild stroke at her typewriter and was slumped over it. Several people had come in and even commented how cute it was that she was taking a nap. Of course my first question was where I could find a job where it was okay to take a nap over your typewriter? |

Apparently it could have been worse – sounds like they only noticed because she was there on a weekend

I think that must be the "official story". The real story probably involves the accidental release of top-secret biological agents and the subsequent government cover up. :) |

Is there any truth to the rumor that the LAPD came in and beat the snot out of the poor woman's co-workers during the course of the investigation? |

The joke around here is when someone asks us "How many people work in your building", we answer "about 10%." |
