I'll be traveling to Toronto at the end of May and would like to stay as inexpensively as possible. I'll need to be downtown each day, but I don't need to stay downtown. I'm happy to say a bit out of the way and travel in on public transportation if that makes the most economic sense. Any recommendations on where to stay? Now the important questions: What are the "must sees" and are there book/game stores worth checking out? Thanks! |

Whenever I'm in Toronto I hit "The World's Biggest Bookstore" near Dundas and Yonge. Great selection of history books. |

The Terracotta soldiers are at the ROM (Royal Ontario Museum), IIRC, – which is right down town. Supposed to be very impressive. And there is an exhibit on Moghul India around as well (not sure where.) As far as gaming I don't know that there is much: Silver Snail? Crossed Swords – but that might be out of your way

The Moghul exhibition is at The Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO). I'm seeing it in February. The Hilton Garden Inn which I think is on Richmond street is a nice place but I'm not sure what your price range is. Also, there's Hairy Trantulas on Yonge St. There is also a GW Battle bunker off Yonge but it's almost in North York. David S. |

The question to you is what do you want to do? Say in the city as commuting is a real pain even on public transit. However you can not get lost if you take the subway there are only 2 lines. Fort York is a must! If you are a Buffalo Bill fan (not the team) you can visit the church where he was baptised at which is in Mississauga. Then thats about it for Mississauga lol. There is a lot of history here you just look. |
