Anyone ever taken one of the European or Asian river cruiser offerred by Viking, Omniworld, etc.? They look like fun, but I would be afraid of being rushed out of a city before I was ready to leave in order to make it to the next stop on time. |

Your last bit describes just about any cruise, so take any itinerary with a grain of salt
I looked at a Mediterranean cruise last year, which had you spending a day in Rome. I spent 4 days there, in the past, and felt rushed! |

I think cruises are good to get a taste of where you may want to go and spend some additional time in the future, that and you can eat yourself into oblivion. |

I've never taken a river cruise but on the ocean going ones you are tied to thier schedule. It can be OK but I found myself either rushed or killing time somewhere I didn't really want to be. Cruises do eliminate the hassle of transportation and having to repack your bags every other day. |
