This morning, I wanted to see something on TMP's Facebook page. I logged in (as I have to do sometimes), but then it asked me to confirm my I.D. with my cell phone number.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!

I've never had to take that action on Facebook, or anywhere else! Any idea if this is legit, or are the hackers trying to put one over on us – again?

I had to log in 3 times today. Ive never been asked for a phone number.
sounds phishy.

Working just fine for me.

Rassilon13 Sep 2010 7:01 p.m. PST

No problems for me today.

Kyoteblue and Rassilon, try logging out and logging back in. See if it asks y'all for your phone numbers as a security feature.

Rassilon13 Sep 2010 7:47 p.m. PST

Just tried it, no security issues… strange.

kyoteblue13 Sep 2010 8:09 p.m. PST

Worked just fine….

No asking for cell number for me.

So, in the 'old' Facebook days, you would become a 'fan' of a page like this.

But that option seems to be gone. How is it supposed to work now?

Regards, the Gorb

You "Like" everything now as opposed to being a "fan of". :P

What's right with it?

I never got the point.

Kid you not…

One time it asked for my Credit Card number to make a post.
I went ahead and did some virus scans on my 'puter after that.
BUT it came back clear.

I could post on other 'likes' but for this one topic, it kept asking me for my CC info. Yet, at a different post on the same 'like' there was no need for the CC info.
Weird.

Facebook still has some scary things going on.
Facebook does not require you to ever give your cc info.
Its a scam.
