Nicole Morales, 22, billed herself as a "spiritual cleanser". What that really is, we don't know, but she said she was "The Divine Master" and a Mayan Priestess….

That ain't the crying game!

Um, wait. Maybe it is.

I'm not seeing the humor.

Col Durnford21 Apr 2010 6:12 a.m. PST

I'm with FusilierDan. This perv need to be hung by what he seeks to hide. Not funny.

Cacique Caribe21 Apr 2010 6:16 a.m. PST

That incompetent mom needs to have those kids taken away from her. And then the state needs to make sure she doesn't breed again.

As for the dude, jail time is too good for the likes of him.

Man, I miss the old days, when all those things made perfect sense.

I have it on good authority that once these sort of folks find themselves in prison, things are not rainbows and unicorns once the general population finds out what they did.

I mean, killers and burglars and thieves are one thing, but child molesters are generally looked upon very badly by everyone inside the big house.

I think he'll find his ability to play a role very useful where he's going to spend the rest of his life.

Daffy Doug21 Apr 2010 12:47 p.m. PST

Bill, I don't get you at all. This is DawgHaus bait if it ever reared its ugly head on TMP.

The IRONY is, this is as close to pushing the complaint button as I have ever come. So I am supposed to complain and YOU will put yourself in the DH? I don't think so….

Klebert L Hall21 Apr 2010 4:08 p.m. PST

I don't know what's more amazing – the imbecility of the parent, or the docility of the kids…

[Bill, I don't get you at all. This is DawgHaus bait if it ever reared its ugly head on TMP.]

That's very true Doug, and straight from the horse's mouth. I remember the last time someone tried to discuss religious leaders using their perceived authority to molest children. Not many laughs there.

Perhaps the rules are different when it comes to more established denominations?

Mrs Pumblechook22 Apr 2010 4:42 a.m. PST

I don't think its funny. Humour board is definitely the wrong place.

Daffy Doug22 Apr 2010 10:57 a.m. PST

Whatsit, the TX CPS hasn't gone after that other group of polygs, even though the FLDS is far larger ("established denomination" by comparison).

And your memory is failing: I didn't bring up the asserted "child molestation" charges; others, lacking emotional restraint did on CACA. What I brought up was the over-the-top, inexcusable action of the CPS in rounding up all of the community's children on such flimsy evidence. The subsequent ruling of the court proved me to have been correct from the outset of my outrage.

And Bill, this time it's all your fault! What in hell are you thinking of?!?!

It's always good to find a point of agreement.

I swear this guy was on Cops or one of the similar shows. I swear it was him.

Sane Max30 Apr 2010 4:03 a.m. PST

I am very very unhappy.

1- Bill, you find this funny
2- Bill, you start such a thread at ALL
3- an idiot bites, not surprisingly really given his history, and gets DH'ed for it.

I am not going to make jokes about sharing a DH cell with Doug, this is not funny on any level, not right on any level and not fair on any level.

Bill, you are a Troll, and should be ashamed of yourself.

I have hit the button on myself myself, save you getting outraged about it.

Menudo pedazo de Bleeped text y Bleeped text!!, ojala se pudra en el infierno.

I wonder how many times that piece of scum got away with it and hope this was the very first and last. And though I feel sorry for the mother, she is an idiot.

And there's nothing fun in this news, it's current affairs and no humour.

I agree with everything Sane Max said four posts above this one. Poor show on this one, kiddy fiddlers do not make me laugh….

Caesar30 Apr 2010 8:52 p.m. PST

And I just can't figure out how TMP gets its reputation.

John the OFM01 May 2010 6:00 a.m. PST

This looks like a setup to entrap Doug, pure and simple.
It's not funny, and …oh, why bother.

In my opinion, free Doug and nuke this thread.

Oh Bugger01 May 2010 7:07 a.m. PST

Dear God this is bleak.

pissant01 May 2010 10:36 a.m. PST

Caesar, what reputation might that be?

Old Bear02 May 2010 3:18 a.m. PST

This is a most odd thread, that's for sure.

Goldwyrm02 May 2010 9:14 a.m. PST

Regarding the OP, I don't see any humor value in a story that involves child molestation.

Neotacha02 May 2010 10:05 a.m. PST

This is not at all amusing.

When I worked for a court reporter, I typed up the transcript of a curandero's trial that involved rather unpleasant sexual abuse. There is not one damned thing about it that is funny.

Kill the thread, and cut Doug loose. This is too disgusting for words.

CATenWolde02 May 2010 11:32 a.m. PST

And you dawghoused me?

Disgusted and disappointed.

Big P from GMG09 May 2010 11:27 a.m. PST

So the guy who runs this site thinks child abuse is funny?

At least thats what Im getting from the post and the board its on.

Makes me sick… Guess this is one to reduce your membership.

Daffy Doug09 May 2010 6:31 p.m. PST

That's the whole problem with it: given the history of "the meltdown" of two years ago over this very vexing, emotional issue/topic….

Syrinx009 May 2010 7:49 p.m. PST

This post is far from funny. How does this fit with humor? This entire thread should be delete. You are totally wrong on this one Bill.

Paul Hurst10 May 2010 9:08 a.m. PST

Way to go, Bill. You've hit an all time low with this!

BlackWidowPilot Fezian10 May 2010 1:48 p.m. PST

"I don't know what's more amazing – the imbecility of the parent, or the docility of the kids…"

Having a degree in Psychology where the curricula included a year as an Administration of Justice minor and studies in Early Childhood Development, I'll throw out the following observations:

1) Children are generally as a rule passive victims of this sort of abuse (and most others as well), as they lack the cognitive and social skills to recognize that what is being done is wrong and defy an adult -especially an adult authority figure in whose custody they have been placed by a *parent*- and they also as a rule of thumb lack the necessary *vocabulary* to properly comprehend and explain the abuse that has taken place.

2) Pedophiles as a matter of routine seek out positions of authority and trust, the better to gain access to their intended victims. Other sexual predators are generally no different (some years ago one of our veteran local police officers was himself arrested and later convicted of sexually assaulting female suspects in his custody).

I could very easily link this point to multiple examples of high-profile authority figures in some well-deserved hot water for just such despicable behavior and would do so if I wasn't crystal clear that Bill would very likely Dawghouse me for my troubles for crossing the line of posting CA material on TMP.

3) Not everyone is equipped for parenthood, not everyone should be a parent, but until *education* beyond some obscenely basic levels becomes more widespread in human civilization, there will always be stories of sadly ignorant, incompetent parents being duped into handing their children over to an apparent authority figure who is in fact a child sex predator, with tragic consequences for the most innocent, most vulnerable victims imaginable.

4) There's not a Goddamn thing funny about this sort of thing, no matter the circumstances. Think otherwise? Then I dare you to make jokes about this to the face of a victim of childhood sexual abuse.

I am in unconditional agreement with others here who have called for the removal of this thread and the release of Doug and Pat from the Dawghouse.

It was only three days. Bill was merciful.

But your exposé is CACA material, and merely adds fuel to the fire: this is NOT a forum for this topic: it never was: and the Editor is just plain nuts to create this thread. It he hasn't shot his Website in the foot I shall be very much surprised….

BlackWidowPilot Fezian10 May 2010 6:27 p.m. PST

Doom,

IMHO it shouldn't have been for three seconds, let alone three days.

I agree with you 100% about this thread being created in the first place; it never should have happened, because frankly, if you cover yerself in a raw meat suit and jump in the middle of the lion paddock at the city zoo, you and I know damn well it's a sucker bet that you're gonna elicit a very sudden and very predictable reaction from some, most, or even *all* of the lions, and have no one to blame but yourself for the very unpleasant nature of the attention your actions generate as a result.

As an early and up 'til now fanatical supporter and partisan of this website, I am to epically understate the matter, disappointed.

See if these are humourous?

Q – What type of file makes a hole this big -o- into a hole this big -O- ?
A – A paedophile

Q – What's the best thing about sex with a 8 year old girl?
A – Turn her over and she's just like an 8 year old boy.

Having worked with sex offenders in varying degrees over the last 12 years, I don't find the subject funny and as a father, I find it a terrifying concept.

Some jokes about it, while in poor taste, are the result of the de-sensitising (sp?) and constant exposure to it as a media topic. I remember the state of 'baby' jokes when I was at high school that were designed to get laughs due to the shock value -

Q – Whats the difference between a lorry full of babies and a lorry full of sand?
A – You can't get the sand out with a pitchfork.

and I believe that these still draw laughs. I don't think that many people genuinely condone sexual or other abuse of children but also think that there is a time and a place for jokes about it. Perhaps such a wide open public forum isnt the place?

Ambush Alley Games30 May 2010 1:35 p.m. PST

This isn't funny at all.

Daffy Doug31 May 2010 9:45 a.m. PST

Odd thing is, Bill doesn't see it, still. On this thread TMP link (c. halfway down) Ace From Outer Space says:

How many peple do you think share Chris' revulsion at the paedophile thing on the humour board?

And Bill's reply is:

Very few. I think most TMP'ers "get it" that News of the Weird is a valid subject for the Humor board – after all, it's written right in the board's definition.

A quick scan of the posts on this thread (the very one Ace refers to) shows that the overwhelming response is disgust, disappointment and even anger….

Bangorstu31 May 2010 1:07 p.m. PST

Frankly, disgusting. That anyone thinks this story is suitable for a 'humour' board (or even news of the weird) speaks volumes.

Daffy Doug01 Jun 2010 12:09 p.m. PST

Then you are saying that it speaks volumes about Bill. How this will play out I can't say….

GeoffQRF24 Jun 2010 1:48 a.m. PST

Perhaps such a wide open public forum isnt the place?

I think that sums it up very well

pissant24 Jun 2010 12:58 p.m. PST

Is 'News of the Weird' a big forum though? Will it ever be? Wouldn't it be ironic if this board became the most-trafficked board on TMP? Wouldn't that say alot about those who frequent TMP? If you don't want that to happen, then stop opening this board and it's threads. That seems like a simple solution to me. But, 'If you build it, they will come', probably is true even here. The Editor is a strange man.
