I have always liked George The Animal Steele. I always hated Hulk Hogan. |

I remember George when they began showing the WWF here back in late '85 through '90 or so. He was a riot and a half! Being from the "Great Southwest" (as it used to called back in the day), my favorites were the Von Erichs (father Fritz and sons David, Kerry, Kevin, Chris, and Mike). Another favorite was "Gentleman" Chris Adams, who started out as a heel but then turned good until his retirement. Least favorite? Hmm. Can't think of one at the moment, as they all were pretty colorful and memorable characters, both heroes and heels. |

My favorite as a kiddo. I don't really know why link Mongo |

I always liked all of the Von Erichs and 'The Claw.' Never was a big fan of the Ric Flair Nature Boy. Of course, the Macho Man Randy Savage started out as my least favorite but grew into one I enjoyed over the years; probably because he's as much fun to imitate as to watch. |

"You know it's not real
" You know very little, if anything, is real on TV. |

George the Animal Steele is as real as they get! While the the rest of it may be bogus he is one upstanding individual. |

George became my favorite when he performed at a local high school gym. The little kids would run up to taunt him, and he would chase them, growling and arms waving, carefully staying just behind them. The kids screamed, ran away and had a great time. |

My favorite as a kid was Baron von Raschke 'The Claw'
he had style. I remember seeing a particularly 'brutal' fight where he was slammed over the back of the head with a trophy
and then never saw him wrestle again. George the Animal is runner-up. I once went to a live match where he was performing. At one point he got out of the ring, onto the ground level and pick up one of those big folding tables the announcers sit at
they're fairly heavy
he then tossed it high into the air
it arced down and crashed into the ring. Regardless of how fake the fighting is that was pretty damn impressive. |

I don't know if American wrestling can compete with the likes of Big Daddy, Giant Haystacks or Kendo Nagasaki So I'll go for Mick McManus because he qualifies for both by being the man you loved to hate. You go into the careers of some of the British "World of Sport" wrestlers and you see that they had interesting histories, but the TV piled on the silliness beyond belief |

I'm old enough to remember when NFL players had off season jobs. so, for old times sake, two favorites are Chief Wahoo McDaniel, AFL linebacker and pro wrestler Ernie Ladd, an original Houston Oiler defensive lineman and pro westler from my home town. |
| Waco Joe | 18 Mar 2010 9:00 a.m. PST |
You can tell Dave and I grew up watching Houston area TV. Wahoo McDaniel was the first name that came to my mind. |

You can tell Dave and I grew up watching Houston area TV. Wahoo McDaniel was the first name that came to my mind. Chief Wahoo McDaniel, Flying Red Bastien, Jose Lothario, Johnny Valentine, along with Fritz Von Erich and many others. The old school of wrestling. Yea
George
That green tongue got me every time! From Wikipedia: Now his gimmick was fully established. A true crazy heel, he acted like a wild man in the ring, tearing up the turnbuckle with his teeth and using the stuffing as a weapon as well as sticking out his green tongue (an effect accomplished by eating green Clorets breath mints).
What a character! Gotta love the guy. |

Roddy
.. Piiiiiippppperr! The time he smashed the coconut over Jimmy "Super Fly" Snukka's head and then proceeded to rub bananas in his face and beat him with his belt is probably the finest moment Sports Entertainment will ever see. And my liquored up friends and I actually stood up and cheered when he slapped the frijoles out of Lord Alfred Hayes. We'd been praying for someone to do it for weeks. Ahhh
those were the days. |

I almost forgot Abdullah the Butcher. What he lacked in personality he more than made up for in spare tires. And then there was "Duthtie Rhodeth, tha Americunh Dreem" with the infamous atomic elbow. |
