From WW2's link "Webb made his theatrical directing debut on "(500) Days of Summer." The bulk of his resume is directing music videos, including ones for Green Day, Weezer, My Chemical Romance, Incubus, Maroon 5, All-American Rejects, Hilary Duff and Ashlee Simpson." Abandon all hope. |

(500) Days of Summer was pretty good as were some of the music videos he did (particularly this WW2 themed My Chemical Romance video: YouTube link Not sure this translates to helming the biggest Super Hero movie franchise, though

The story went that they wanted to back the story up into Parker's teen years. There are adult actors who can look like teens, but Pattinson is not one of them. |

So it's not really Spiderman then is it? Sounds more like a Spidey version of Smallville. But on the big screen, told in less than two hours. Oh dear. |

A really young Spidey is more the Ultimate version than the Marvel main timeline version (who headed for college very early on and stayed there for thirty years
). The movies have been dancing back and forth between the two Marvel timelines for details. Iron Man is clearly the original Tony Stark brought forward to a new war, while the universal guest appearances of a black Nick Fury are derived from the Ultimate side (the original Fury being a white guy with perpetual stubble). The Fantastic Four are original, but Galactus is closer to the Ultimate version. |

I'm kind of glad that Raimi and the others are out of it
I prefer Raimi's other films
Drag Me To Hell was good fun
and Toby McGuire can stretch out to more interesting stuff too. |
