I just saw this on a US local newspaper site.
listed and sold an item on eBay and PayPal put my money on hold for up to 21 days without just cause. PayPal would not allow me to access my money so that I could ship the item sold to the buyer today. PayPal has now caused, without reason, the delay of the shipment until after Christmas.I have never given eBay or PayPal authority, knowingly, to withhold my money for any length of time. PayPal and eBay, without just reason or authority, has decided to with hold my money, for up to 21 days, because I am a periodic user of eBay and not a professional seller. This is totally wrong and is the same as stealing because they hold funds up to 21 days, collecting interest on said funds, and not forwarding the interest collected to the rightful person who owns the money in the first place.
If what this seller said is true it's yet another step away from being any use to me. |

I had someone ask me a few months ago to give feedback as soon as I received the item because they were new and Paypal held the money till I gave feedback
first time I had ever heard of such a thing. |

Your newspaper is about a year behind the times, that has been in affect for a LONG time on ebay now

I'm always suspicious that when some entity delays giving you money that's rightfully yours they are playing with it somehow
Most likely that's a completely kooky and unfounded suspicion. |

Didn't Paypal get into a legal Dawghouse for doing this before? |

first time I had ever heard of such a thing. It's true, as I read about it on the eBay sellers' forum over a year ago. Paypal will withhold the seller's payment until the buyer either leaves feedback or 21 days have passed, then the funds are transferred to the seller's account. If you're happy with the transaction do more than clap your hands, since seller's have to eat. |

Nothing new, and it shouldn't affect reputable and experienced eBayers: "Your payments will not be held if you meet the following requirements: - You have been an eBay member for 6 months or more, and - Your total Feedback score is 100 or greater, and - Your buyer dissatisfaction percentage is less than 5%. Or - Your average DSR (Detailed Seller Rating) is 4.5 or greater and - Your have received 20 or more DSRs in the last 12 months." auction link Allen |

If you're happy with the transaction do more than clap your hands, since seller's have to eat. I always leave feedback
unfortunately not everyone does
that time the guy asked I guess he assumed I would take my time..
