Agreed that Biggovernment.com is a miserable waste of time. "Complaint Free Wednesday" is a far more serious concern. It shows an appalling lack of cultural sensitivity to the TMP community in general and the OFM in particular. Complaining is one of our principal forms of communication, ergo this resolution is effectively silencing us, infringing (in spirit, not in fact) upon our Constitutional right to Free Speech and Trivial Pedantry. Well, I say that will happen when they pry my 28mm post-1809 Bavarian Schützen (the ones with the barrel bands spaced slightly too far apart and the plume on the Raupenhelm being too thick) from my cold dead hands. |

Why would I waste my precious time on something the OFM warns is "
a miserabl;e waste of time"??? I have precious bodily fluids to go and deposit somewhere. |

In other words stop complaining and just accept what we are doing because we know what is best for you. |

If it's adopted, the TMP Boards would be mighty empty next Wed :). Funny though, a complaint about complaining (or lack thereof). Even so, I'd hope the Hon Mr Cleaver could find a better use of his time |

To better present the letter to the public, the text has been copied onto House of Representatives letterhead. So you can pretend it was a printed letter and not just an email? |
| adub74 | 19 Nov 2009 2:23 p.m. PST |
<shakes head> Did you guys even read the email or look up the resolution? (which, by the way, is cosponsored by a conservative Repulican (Rep. Samuel Graves)--gasp) link Be warry of extreme left and right wing biased media sources. Maybe a kernal of truth in there, but you've got to dig through a pile to get at it. |

My tax dollars at work. Unfortunately he has a strong following in certain parts of KC and we are going to be stuck with him a while. |
| adub74 | 19 Nov 2009 3:47 p.m. PST |
"My tax dollars at work" 313 words in the bill (including the boiler plate text) and probably half that for the email. An assistant probably spent all of half an hour putting this together. Probably less time than most here waste of their employer's time surfing this web site. |

So, Bill, are we allowed to post politics to the regular boards now? OK, You guys are making such a big deal over health care as if you're the only ones in the ing world who have ever dealt with such a switch. Hint, the Canadian bill to switch to medicare for all citizens was about 4 pages long and happened more than 40 years ago. The British one long before that. -- Tim |

Oh, so now we have religion AND politics. I move that all of TMP be carried off to the DawgHaus forthwith; that way we can talk about anything we want (oh, and my second move is that we allow conversing IN the DawgHaus
.) |

Without moving too much into Fez terretory: Be warry of extreme left and right wing biased media sources. Maybe a kernal of truth in there, but you've got to dig through a pile to get at it. Wiser words have never been said
here on TMP at least! :) Damon. |

"Funny though, a complaint about complaining (or lack thereof)." In turn, generatung a thread complaining about complaining about complaining. TMP remains an irony-free zone. Allen |

RicharDBM They don't have to vote themselves pay raises anymore. A few years ago, they passed a law giving themselves automatic Cost-of-Living increases every year. BTW, Social Security won't be getting one. And every time I turn around, the Supreme Court is deciding in favor of a huge conglomerate when its BoD decides they don't want to continue paying the same rate of retirement to their former employees and are allowed to cut those payments.
