Well I certainly didn't see this one coming….

Looks like it could actually be a win all-round given the lack of major sponsors available.

I actually expected it to be Virgin GP next year.

"I actually expected it to be Virgin GP next year."

Me too.

And with the recent news of Kimi not racing, well… I'll miss him, I liked the guy.

Agreed with regards to Kimi, but man I'm pleased about the McLaren line-up; now we *really* get to find out how good Button is – no disrespect to Barrichello, but having Button racing alongside one of the very best* in the sport should make for a very interesting comparison.

Dom.

*Hamilton and Alonso are the varsity for me, with Massa maybe a fraction behind them. I still don't know what to make of JB – he seems to be a master at getting the best out of a top-notch car, but can't produce a great performance from an indifferent machine, which for me is the mark of a real F1 great. My suspicion is that Hamilton will have the better of him, whatever car McLaren turn out next year, but I'd quite like to be wrong, as it should make for some great racing….

Hamilton and Alonso are the varsity

I have to agree, they have both passion and skill, something you don't always get in a driver. I think Hamilton will stay #1 at McLaren, but Button will be a far better #2 driver than Kovalainen was. No disrespect to him, and I'm thrilled to have him on board, but Hamilton is incredible.

Can't say I'm sorry to see Raikkonen go, I've never been so bored to see anyone drive or speak about driving. He didn't want to do any development work, and he barely seemed like he wanted to drive. He just doesn't have the desire like some of the others do. I wish him well in rallying or wherever he lands next year, though. I doubt it will bring him the roughly $1 USD million per week that he was getting in F1…

I'm not a Ferrari fan, but I will be glad to see Alonso back in a competitive car. Renault has been terrible since he left the first time and honestly I won't blame them if they want to pull back and just supply engines going forward. I was sorry to see Kubica sign with them, he deserves better.

Does this mean Brawn GP is the only team in F1 history to have won both Driver and Constructor championship in every year of it's existence?

This Button/Hamilton thang could go either way, if the cars good, happy days, although, they could just take wins/points of each other and allow another driver to sneak through, ala 2007. OR, if the new McLarens a dog, thats both British interests in the bin!

I have faith in McLaren, and it will be great!

I think McLaren will do just fine. It was Ferrari's decision to stop developing the 2009 car mid way through the year that left me scratching my head. The only major changes that I know of will be a refuelling ban and narrower front tires. The only thing I can think of is that they decided to go with a radical redesign. McLaren made out very well toughing it out and developing the MP4/24. With the additional development from off season testing, the MP4/25 will probably be very similar and a contender for the championship.

I hope there are more than one good car and not a repeat of this year. Since middle of the season it was fairly sure that Button was going to win the tittle even after the others began to improve.

On other issue I think Button has made a big mistake moving to McLaren, time will tell but apart from moving to Hamilton's kingdom I do not think Button can challenge him the least in equal cars.
