For those that don't know, this game will be nationally televised on 'Super Tuesday' -- next week. We Basketball junkies get 24 hours of hoops!! Oh yeah! What's with the Sparties? All I read about is a lot of angst over this game. You would think the Spartie fans would be licking their chops! The Zags only have four guys that have ever played a minute of D-1 ball and the Sparties return essentially 90% of a team that played in the National Championship game last year. Well the Zags look very athletic, very young and make all kinds of mistakes. They also seem to lack the killer instinct at this point in the season. (either that or Mississippi Valley State is a whole lot better than I think they are -- they have a few good players on MVSU but absolutely no team cohesion). Still they are putting up 90 points a game and playing everyone on the bench -- to include the walk-ons -- so they must be doing something right. mjc |

The Spartans will triumph or I will run the perimeter of the Lounge wearing only a jock strap and a light coat of oil until I drop, at which point I shall ignite myself and charge down the stairs to the basement to provide the peasants with a little heat and sizzling bacon. Or not. |

I'm really looking forward to that game. Spartans will roll!!!! I sure hope so, last thing I want to see is Streitax running the perimeter of the Lounge wearing only a jock strap and a light coat of oil

As a favor to the residents, blindfolds will be available for a nominal fee. $50 USD each, and worth every penny. |

Michigan State will host Gonzaga at 8 p.m. in what should be a guard-dominated affair, led by MSU's Kalin Lucas, who was named Big Ten preseason Player of the Year. The Spartans are getting healthier as Raymar Morgan (ankle) played a few minutes to get loose in Friday night's opener against Florida Gulf Coast. -- so says Andy Katz. MSU better hope it is guard oriented. The top foreign starter you may not know: Gonzaga's Elias Harris. The German national flew under the radar during the summer. He played on his senior national team but didn't get much pub stateside. Harris started his college career with 18 points in Gonzaga's opening win over Mississippi Valley State. Expect him to be a major player for the Zags against Michigan State. Rob Sacre 7'0", put in 17 in that game. Both played limited minutes. The Zags can bang inside -- are the hobbled Sparties ready? Heard your big guy went 0-4 from the field and 0-4 from the line against Florida Gulf Coast. I smell an upset. mjc |

8 eastern. I can't wait to go home and listen to this one. God I wish the oil won't be necessary, and not only because I want the Spartans to win! GO GREEN! |
