Joss Whedon got shafted again by FOX. Then again, Dollhouse was no Buffy/Angel or Firefly: link |

Now he can concentrate on his bid for the Terminator franchise. But seriously, now the series is over, it is probably time for me to watch it and lament its demise. Like I did with Firefly. |

I have watched the first season, and liked the show – much better than the one season of Buffy I watched, although not nearly as well as Firefly. I am looking forward to watching series two on DVD once it is released. |

As noted, it was no Firefly. |

We at Zap2it love TV, so we're more relieved rather than gleeful that "Dollhouse" got the ax. The show just wasn't up to Whedon's snuff, despite a few episode/performance gems. HA ha ha
Talk about apologist fanboys

There was one episode where Eliza was barely clad in a dominatrix outfit. It wasn't a great show, but it was better than most of the dribble that comes out of the networks these days. I've been saying this since the 70's, "how many cop and medical shows doe's it take to ruin a network?" The answer is; 12. That seems to be the breaking point. Wait and see

The eye candy was nice but the show was only so so |

I never watched it, and I suspect that I am not the only one. |

I gave the show a shot, I watched the first 3 episodes, and I gave up on it. Eliza looked real good, and there where great shots of her wearing very little. But there wasn't enough interesting things happening on the show to keep me watching. Sad really, good concept but not one that works well for television I feel. It would have made a great book, or movie, but for a series it just didn't work for me. |

Other than Eliza, this show was not very good imho. I understand Fox
contrarily to Firefly, which was an horrible decision from Fox. It's like, what, the 3rd show Eliza is on that got cancelled? |
| Gattamalata | 13 Nov 2009 9:25 a.m. PST |
The show wasn't good especially due to Eliza, as her co-stars displayed a greater range of acting talent than her. Fox gave this show a chance and it failed proving Whedon lacks the Midas touch, but this hasn't stopped his fanboys from going nuts, blaming everyone else for the failure, but not the show's creator. |

Fox will show the remaining episodes, so that's something. There was potential with the show, but it never really grabbed me. It was lacking the typical Whedon humor of Buffy and Firefly. Took itself too seriously. |

Next to be aired episode has Summer Glau, I think as a villain. |

Hi Eliza did a nude scene in a recent movie she did about being a crazy ex cop pursuing a serial killer (true story). Her beauty isn't enough to watch a show. Frankly, Dollhouse, the basic premise, creeped me out. Rocky |

The pacing was like watching moss grow! Revealing the over-arcing storyline one little snippet per episode was annoying. The supporting cast was lackluster and the episodic plots too predictable. I never bothered with the second season so I'm not surprised by it's cancellation. |

Like I said, I only watched the first season, but it grew stronger as it went along. |

"Castle" is pretty darn good, though. Nathan Fillion is golden. |

I watched the first season of "Castle" and quite enjoyed it. I am going to buy the first season as part of my Dad's BD present next month. |

While I was a big fan of both Buffy and Firefly, watching Dollhouse left me bored after 3 eps so I stopped. I won't miss it. |

Darn, Glau is like an angel of death for TV shows – Firefly, SCC and now Dollhouse. Maybe she should get the hint, give up the acting career, move to Sweden and settle down
with me. :-D In regard of Dollhouse, it was watchable, but like already said above, it was no 'Firefly' or 'Angel'. One thing that bugged me throughout the show was the lack of Whedon's classic dialogues. One episode of 'Firefly' had more memorable lines than all of first season of 'Dollhouse'. Also, Duskhu
I'm sorry, but the girl has no star power to carry a show all on her own. That being said, I am sorry to see it joining 'Angel' and 'Firefly'. At least I hope that they managed to close the story arc before dropping the hammer; nobody should want a repeat of final episode of 'Angel'. |

Joss should do another Firefly |
| jtkimmel | 14 Nov 2009 5:00 p.m. PST |
Minondas, Glau was on The Unit for a short story arc as well, and that show bit the dust too. Poor girl's gonna get a complex. Watched 2 or 3 episodes of Dollhouse, didn't catch my interest. |
| Gattamalata | 14 Nov 2009 5:18 p.m. PST |
Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles lasted two seasons and probably due to Glau's popularity, whereas Dollhouse might not make it till May. It's illogical that the former was canceled in favor of the latter, but what do you expect from the Whedon clique. |
| Minondas | 15 Nov 2009 6:23 a.m. PST |
Jtkimmel, let's not blame Summer for all the evil of tv networks. :-) She was in 'Unit' in third season and it got two more seasons before cancellation, which was 'earned' by the writers of the show all on their own. Fifth season was just wierd. Condotierre, I am what some would call a Whedon sockpupet and I was much more disapointed by cancellation of SCC than the news about Dollhouse. Let's face it though, dark story of SCC made it almost certain that it would be shafted, I was even suprised that it got a second season. As for Dollhouse, it's watchable (I don't mind slowly developing story arc), but at the same time it is the weakest of Whedon's creations. Then again, Buffy didn't gain momentum with me until third season and who knows what would happen with Firefly, if it was allowed to continue for couple of seasons

I am what some would call a Whedon sockpupet and I was much more disapointed by cancellation of SCC than the news about Dollhouse. If you're a Whedon sockpuppet, you'd be jumping for joy over T:SCC's cancellation and going on IMDb forums how it deserved to be canceled, since it was so awful. On the Dollhouse IMDb forum, they're acting like it's the end of the world. I'd say you're a discerning viewer. Buffy: I prefer the movie over the series, since I could only handle teenage related stuff, regardless of genre, in small doses. Firefly: Saw the series in the the order it was supposed to be seen and never was impressed with it. Not a bad show show, better than original BSG, but not as compelling as the Buck Rogers TV series or an episode of Farscape. I realize it was only one season, but unlike the uneven first year of Babylon 5, it never drew me in. Dollhouse: Nothing better to do on Friday nights and right after Law & Order, since T:SCC's cancellation. The show has promise and wouldn't have minded a season 3 at the same time slot, but focus more on the supporting cast. Glau as a cyborg displayed better acting and emotion than Dusku, plus I can't stand the latter's singing. T:SCC: The problem with this show had to do with the uneven writing in season 2: the three red dots "story arc" and the mom going crazy went on for too long. If it's true, Season 3 would've revolved around John in the future. |
