I just finished reading this book. Yikes! It is even better than the first! The ending was kind of unexpected. There was no denoument at all!
Hopefully The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest will be released soon…

What was the first book? What are they about?

Neotacha11 Nov 2009 2:27 p.m. PST

Who wrote them? Is it a kid's book or real adult fare?

It's the sequel to The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.

A swedish crime novel trilogy by Stieg Larsson.

Liked by many.

I really enjoyed these. I am not much for crime novels, but this is quite different. The author died, but he had already submitted 3 books out of a planned series of 10. Does anybody knows a trusty Necromancer with a passion for reading?
Recommended.

Despite disliking both main characters I was drawn in and read both. Must say I'm looking forward to the third and am sorry the author died. I've become mildly addicted to Swedish crime thrillers, especially the Wallendar series.

Yes, they are quite jolly romps, if a bit pervy. Unfortunately Mr Larssen succumbed a bit to 'Dan Brownitis' with some of the characters, I can't help referring to the blonde giant as 'the killer albino priest'.

Its out now isn't it? When I've finished 'The German Army on the Somme' it is next on my list.

The original Swedish Wallander TV series is just great, much better than the Kenneth Branagh remakes. Dreamlike and strange, and with a very arbitrary sense of justice. Nice to see a culture who drink more than we do, and at the most inappropriate times.

There are supposedly some unpublished books knocking around on a memory stick in the possession of his ex-partner. Big legal hoo-ha around inheritance rights and things (they weren't married and he never made a will – wanted to stay off the grid).
