if you're not into soccer hit your back button now :)

When are they going to take action against players doing this, it really leaves a bad taste in My mouth while watching a good game.

You should have seen the Dallas FC game against Seattle a couple of weeks ago. Seattle was diving like it was the Olympics. I was extremely happy to see them get bounced out of the playoffs by Houston.

Three things that I think would improve soccer:

1. Go back to the old off side rule of the offensive player's body has to be entirely past the defender. Ties should go to the offense.

2. Post game reviews of diving with multiple game suspensions the punishment.

3. Call a foul if you can see daylight between the offending players elbow and body. And give a card for persistent infringement if it keeps happening. This nonsense of reaching out full stretch to grab an opponent being called a "professional foul" is BS.

I hate diving but UEFA shoots itself in the foot when it does a post match charge of diving on a player and then withdraws it (Eduardo-Arsenal). Serial divers should be punished but then you also get cases where a player is genuinely fouled (Drogba-Chelsea) like on the weekend when he was kicked in the stomach, doesn't act or carry on and gets carded for diving!

There is no easy answer; personally I think that post game is the only way to go when the referee has time to watch the whole game and there is no pressure on him/her from the crowd, players etc.

Why don't the refs just ignore divers?

Let them lay on the ground crying, while the game goes on?

I you take a dive in basketball, and lay on the floor, it's 5 on 4 advantage for the other team.

Waco, getting rid of off sides would be great as well

As fond as I am of Chelsea I have to say Drogba tends to fall down in the box…a lot. But here He was genuinely fouled, I can only hope the card gets taken back, if that's possible.
