I'm torn on the Iowa loss. I'd like to see Cincinnati get a shot at the title but I've been hearing that the stupid BCS stuff would implode if they end up with an undefeated Big Ten team that didn't get a shot at the title. |

Go away. I don't want to talk about it

John did PSU lose? Oops. That's okay, so did Oregon thereby killing Boise State's strength of schedule and simplifying the BCS calculus. Too bad really, this is a really good year in the Pac-10 for football. Washington State is really the only bad team in the conference and most teams have held up well in OOC games. |

Hey, John, he didn't even mention your game
So he wasn't talking about it. |

Nobody's going to mention the BEST result of the weekend? Navy beating Notre Dame, in South Bend no less. All the sweeter in that the deciding score was Clausen getting sacked in the end zone for a safety. |

That fumble in the end zone/injury to QB is one of the biggest plays of the year, THE biggest for Iowa and the B10. Iowa went from B10 champs, a guaranteed BCS at large bid, and a chance at undefeated BCS NC, to a real longshot to win the B 10 (let's say 99% chance Iowa loses next week), and no at large BCS in ONE second. Shame. And handing the title to an undeserving OSU is an ugly result as well. I was watching Wake Forest choke and puke at GT.

undeserving OSU? Please explain. |
| Smokey Roan | 08 Nov 2009 5:49 p.m. PST |
I mean that Iowa was going into the OSU game undefeated, the highest ranked B10 team and still with an arguement for a NC bid. Crack! One play not only takes Iowa's QB (and it was obvious, even before proven yesterday, that without their QB, Iowa couldn't beat anyone). So OSU is basically handed the B10 title, without even having to beat the best team (Bet the farm on OSU, yes, even give all those points!). Breaks of the game, I know, but it hurts the B10 overall (and OSU has a very favorable deference from the pollsters, considering their few quality wins and one not very impressive, and one horrible, losses.)
BTW Canes at OSU next year!

Bad luck for Iowa but I fail to see how that makes OSU undeserving. Iowa was not impressive in most of their wins while OSU has been trouncing people (other than their loss at Purdue). I think there was a pretty good chance Iowa was going to lose anyway. |
