Every one of them claims to be "humbled" when The People deign to seledt them. Bushwah, I say. There is not a politician alive who has one humble bone in their body. I might also add that the following professions are also humility challenged: astronaut test pilot saint actor quarterback pitcher teacher OFM Pope Let's face it. you go into those professions because you think you can do a better job that the clown currently holding iit. |

I'd imagine that for some newcomers in close races there is something approaching humbleness
when you realize you've actually succeeded at what you've been working so hard to get
like Robert Redford's character at the end of The Candidate, when he's finally won he asks, 'now what?' The guys who have been around for a while aren't gonna feel that way though. |

I really hate those guys who make millions of dollars in movies and in interviews they declare "I was too stupid to get a real job" |

For once John I am in agreement with you. There not humbled there laughing all the way into the office

Because yelling "Oh yeah, I kicked his ass" followed by "I freakin rule and as soon as I can blow this hick burg and move to DC, I ain't comin back except to beg for votes or money" would probably hurt their re-election chances. |

If a politician's lips are moving, chances are he is lying. |

Because saying "Thanks y'all for making the right decision. Well done. I really, really deserve this – and a lot more besides." would hamper their chances of winning the next prize. Pretending to be humble is useful skill. |

Not to nit-pick but, to be a saint, don't you usually have to be dead? |

"Not to nit-pick but, to be a saint, don't you usually have to be dead?" No, I still got 10 good years left before that happens. |

They're humbled because they have become successful politicians, the lowest of the low. They don't feel humbled, but are humbled in the eyes of everyone else. Nah, they're just lying and sucking up – it's what they do. -Kle.

Such negativity
I really don't see how someone could do the job that councilmen/mayors/senators/reprasentatives/presidents have to do with out a certain amount of confidence
and quite a lot of wheeler-dealing. The only officials who don't sometimes lie to the populace are most likely non-elected tyrants. So take your pick. |

Well, if our lot do suffer some of the proposed reforms (living in bed sits, not employing family members and not having me pay for whichever home needs most doing to it), they may feel a touch humbler than before. |

OFM, your list needs to include surgeon, psychiatrist, talk show host, lawyer, judge, movie/TV director/producer, mega-star musician & pimp. |

Maybe just putting 'humans' on the list will cover it. |

Humbled? Ha! It's all PR, man. CC |
