Entire, one minute, 83 yard game winning TD drive by the Canes (if you missed it). YouTube link
"Glue Hands" Johnson and Coop! Go Canes! Damn! We almost lost to Wake Forest! :O |

Wow, that was a ball game. |

Yeah. We showed zero signs of life till we recovered that fumble down 27-14 in the 4th. Boy, we dropped some passes before that huge 4th down catch, eh? I thought for sure Wake's 60 yard FG would be good (we had lost 4 Halloween day (Oct 31st) games in a row, 3 by last second FG BTW!). |

Shag, did I ever tell you about attending the '91 Cotton Bowl? Great story! :) ;) The 'Horns better worry about finishing out!
Not a rare thing when we've seen the B12 frontrunner and NC game shoe in lose it's last game or in the B12 championship! I remember OU doing it 3 times, NU once and Texas once this decade (and two other times when OU lost its last game but STILL went to the BCS NC!) |

Our D is weak. Real weak. And Offense sure could have been better too. Wake Forest should NOT have been a close game. Jake |

Jake, we are OUT of players! Ray Ray Armstrong, Spence, Futch, McGee, Moncor, Forston, Buchannon, Brandon all out? That's around 5 NFL first rounders right there! Remember Spence and Ray Ray Armstrong taking OU and GT players heads off? Notice that didn't happen with them out vs Clemson and WF? We have: Zero Defensive ends! (we are putting 2nd, 3rd string DTs there), THREE Linebackers! (none good, I might add!) and have not had two first string safeties OR cornerbacks on the field at the same time ever! If our DC can outscheme UVA, Duke, UNC and USF, we will be OK. (if not, more scoring shoot outs, but I still like our offense against all these teams) And offensively, NO backup QB, one TE, no backup O linemen and one FB! (I don't say "one" as in "one good player at that position", I mean "One" on the roster!). Because of need, we are loaded at WRs and RBs. Remember, we are almost all freshman/sophomores. Next year, with a recruiting emphasis on D in '09 and '10 classes, we will be strong! Jake, it's Shalala! She let Coker go three seasons without recruiting a Dade County high school player!!!!!! ( you see what ONE Miami HS team gave us in ONE year: Jacory, Aldarius Johnson, Bird, Telamaque, Benjamen, Futch, and Forston! ie all playmaking starters their sophomore years)
He didn't recruit a Quarterback, wide reciever or DBack from '03-'06!!!!!! This is Cokers last "season". Shannon's first "All Shannon recruits" team will be in 2010, and it will be very good! |

Smokey, I seem to have read in some places that this year was going to be Shannon's year. I watch his O and D coordinators make some of the calls they make (or DON'T make), and see the team play confused and dumb, and am not impressed. At this point blaming Coker for the lack of leadership I see now is kind of like a president blaming his predecessor a year into his term. The coaching staff is ALL Randy's at this point, and they are lame. |

I think the most telling stat was that before the final drive, Miami had close to zero yards net offense in the second half. Jacory sure wasn't on his game. |
| Smokey Roan | 03 Nov 2009 3:57 a.m. PST |
Jacory was getting hit by defenders pass rush at the same time he caught the snaps! They ran right through our O line almost every play, while our opponents QB's have ALL day to throw. Jacory's been sacked 29 times this year! :O (and many many more hurries and knockdowns) BTW, our rushing: 22 attempts, for 26 yards :O But yes, Shannon is still a question mark.
Jake, this year was "show improvement in all aspects, or he's not the one",(Randy's gameday coaching, his offensive and defensive co-ordinator hires, show that players can develop, improve, play hard, everything). Well, even though he has made a few blunders, NOTHING like last year. His OC and DC hires are great hires(look at our young defense when it had healthy players/2 deep depth, being the OU and GT games). I am as hard on the Canes and Randy as anyone (I expect 12-0 or the seasons is a failure), but Jake, some non Randy apologists that know much more than I do say the almost total lack of junior and senior starters, the youth and lack of depth is hurting us the most. One of my best freinds is a Canes doctor, on the field every game, knows every kid, and he says the lack of depth and amount of kids playing banged up is scary! |

What a shame. |

I hear what you're saying Smokey, but I still see evidence of a lack of real leadership and sound decision making by the coaching staff. |
| Smokey Roan | 04 Nov 2009 4:58 p.m. PST |
I see it, too. But some decisions are being muffed by the players. When Shannon orders the kicker to "Squib short, no return" and the kicker goes out and boots the ball deep right to the returner, costing us a game and the ACC, Randy is the coach, his team. (the kicker was booted from team after that play)
