I loved the Phillies. Back when I could name every player on the team from the late 70's to early 80's. (as I could the Yankees, Dodgers, Royal;s and every other team).

Thanks, free agency!

It was interesting watching the old Indian's AL Cy Young winners pitching last nite… sigh (long suffering Indian's fan)

Baseball needs the socialism and centralism that the NFL enjoys.
The NFL is committed to the financial success of the smaller markets, and that is the only way they can do it.
All teams like Pittsvurgh and Clevelad are are farm teams for the rich market teams, like the Yankees and Red Sox. They are one step ahead of AAA, but not by much.
There are 8 teams capable of winning pennants and Word Series. The rest can't afford it.

It hardly disadvantages a player that the maximum he can make is $20 USD million, rather than $167 USD million.

"Baseball needs the socialism and centralism that the NFL enjoys."

Not convinced it entirely works; why do the Lions, Raiders, and Browns still blow?

"interesting watching the old Indian's"

How about the old Rangers infield? Wish the Dodgers would of made the series; I would have paid money to see Padilla bean Teixeira in the butt on national TV.

Because their owners are idiots. You need more than money. The Rooneys in Pittsburgh are intelligent owners in a small town. You need both, the intelligence and the money.
