Watched it a second and third time this weekend, the first time I was kinda underwhelmed, but it REALY picks up on rewatch, Ellen Greene got a special singing voice but I kinda like it.
Steve Martin as a sadistic dentist is priceless.

It deffenetly moved into the top 5 musicals for me.

I have fond memories of that show at my community theater.

I was working backstage as part of the plant. I tell people I was the right arm and the bowel movement – the guy pulling the actors through the plant as they are eaten.

I had to be careful pulling the Audrey actress through since her nightgown costume was cut really low and, because of how the stage was laid out, I had to pull her so she landed on top of me. My fiancee (now wife) was also working backstage as props master, so she had a good laugh at my expense during that scene.

As for the movie, I agree Steve Martin was excellent. I wonder how much of the scene with Bill Murray was improvised.

I was completely OVERwhelmed when I first saw it. I thought it was awesome (except for the cheesy Hollywood ending where they live). I've also seen it performed live and really enjoyed it there.

CLDISME: In charge of a plant's BM. Love it!
