So, after playing magical lion Jesus, a good Nazi and a soviet submarine captain, among other things, Liam Neeson is to be col. Hannibal Smith in The A-Team:

Uck. Worst… movie idea… EVER!

andygamer25 Oct 2009 9:33 a.m. PST

I pity the fool.

Gunfreak25 Oct 2009 10:52 a.m. PST

There is only one Hannibal Smith and his name is George Peppard

Pictors Studio25 Oct 2009 11:29 a.m. PST

I heard that Liam Neeson was retiring from hollywood. This is a strange way to do it. I guess some people have to be forced though.

Pictors Studio25 Oct 2009 11:30 a.m. PST

Also the guy who is playing BA has a much more bad ass name than BA himself does. They should have just run with that.

mweaver25 Oct 2009 11:45 a.m. PST

I confess that I never watched the original show. I suspect my record will remain intact when this film is released.

StarfuryXL525 Oct 2009 11:46 a.m. PST

Embiggened -- now there's a word you don't hear every day. Thankfully.

dick garrison25 Oct 2009 12:32 p.m. PST

I believe the chap from "district 9" is going to be Howling Mad Murdock as well.

Daffy Doug25 Oct 2009 2:32 p.m. PST

Eegad….

Embiggened -- now there's a word you don't hear every day. Thankfully.

It's a perfectly cromulent word.

Ed Mohrmann25 Oct 2009 3:08 p.m. PST

And scrapovulous, as well.

CPBelt25 Oct 2009 5:04 p.m. PST

Well, that should be craptastic. Pass.

streetline25 Oct 2009 5:43 p.m. PST

It's amazing given Hollywood's usual high quality levels of remakes and sequels that this slipped through.

Odd.

Yechh!

Whatisitgood4atwork25 Oct 2009 9:12 p.m. PST

Okay, we've had Charlie's Angels, The Dukes of Hazzard, and now The A Team. How long before The 6 Million Dollar Man is made into a movie? Knight Rider? Any other dead horses to flog?

I'm happy to pass on the lot, at least until they come onto late night free-to-air TV. And probably not even then.

AndrewGPaul26 Oct 2009 2:20 a.m. PST

Well, it's not like Hollywood can make The A-Team any worse than it was originally. grin

I want to see the van, myself.

I wonder, does Mr Neeson have a daughter who wants to go to Harvard or something? Or a big tax bill?

Azantihighlightning26 Oct 2009 3:23 a.m. PST

I'm not sure what one means by retire from Hollywood – He has never lived there. He lives in NYC. I imagine the best thing for him to do after the death of his wife, is to keep as busy as possible.

[Well, it's not like Hollywood can make The A-Team any worse than it was originally.]

True!

Gunfreak26 Oct 2009 11:00 a.m. PST

A-TEAM was the best show of the 80s
It was perfect, nothing wrong with it.

Looks the same to me…

Steve Holmes 1123 Nov 2009 4:33 a.m. PST

Why don't these guys understand "Don't mess with perfection".

The best case for this movie is to make it to B-Team status.

Mardaddy30 Nov 2009 4:11 p.m. PST

So are they going to stay true to the TV A-Team and never show anyone actually die?

All shooting is at the feet/in the air/at vehicles.
Car flips and explosions where they include a glimpse of the escape of the driver/passengers – the possible casualties barely making their getaway before fatal disaster (good & bad guys both!)

Captain Gideon01 Dec 2009 5:14 p.m. PST

For myself this is a BAD idea but then i said that when they made Car 54,Starsky and Hutch,The Honeymooners to say but a few BOMBS IMHO.

In recent years you had a REAL BOMB Speed Racer now that SUCKED big time.

One of the very few which is pretty good was the Addams Family, that one i really like.

For me i say if it ain't broke DON'T fix it and most of these movies NEVER should've been made.

This is just my two cents but i had to say it.
