Good to know that a man of ability, Petraeus, made his way to the top. I don't think this is "Fezzish," but I thought the early reverses in Iraq had more to do with poor planning at the grade above general-- the Secretary of Defense. A good look at this topic can be found in the pages of "Cobra II," about the Iraq Invasion: link Planning for the Iraq invasion bore eerily similar comparisons to the direction of the German Army from June-November 1941, or the Army of the Potomac in 1862. And NO, I'm not comparing the US Army to the ed Nazis. Heck, the comparison to McClellan's AoP pains me more than anything! |
