As I was listening to my local sports radio station this morning, I wondered if the rest of the world has similar programming? Is this strictly an American phenomenon, or would other countries have a like equivalent? Thank you. |

We have the nationwide BBC Radio 5 and Five Live in the UK. Local BBC radio stations occaisionally have local sport on them. Pete |

Extremely popular in Québec. They talk about basically one subject; The Montreal Canadiens. |

The Toronto area also has an all-sports radio network including talk format. |

Canada doesn't count. I sometimes listen to Canadian Politics on the Moose Jaw radio station. Cross boarder pollination is too easy. mjc |

Hi Actually, it annoys me that the BBC world morning report usually has a half hour segment of "talk sports" when i want to get their position on the issues of the day! Rocky |

Correct me if I am wrong, Saginaw, but I think the OP means All-Sports, All-the-Time radio and not just the occasional 30 to 90 minute break in the regular programming. Chicago has at least 2 such stations. I prefer it to the news radio since I like to avoid the big, bad world. It is scary out there. I like to think my greatest problem is who is on the starting roster. |

I'm guessing that is what he means is all sports all the time (at least in between the ck some use to get their target audience listening). We here in DFW (which includes Saginaw) now have three full time sports stations: ESPN, The Fan and The Ticket (see comment above about ck). |

We have the nationwide BBC Radio 5 and Five Live in the UK. Local BBC radio stations occaisionally have local sport on them. We also have Talk Sport, which is a national sports radio station. I don't listen to it any more because ads on radio drive me totally spare – for some reason they are far more annoying than the telly ones (and they're bad enough). But, it is a national sports station. Doug |

We have a 24/7 Canes radio station, and a 24 hour Dolphins/Marlins/Panthers station. |

I had forgotten about Talk Sport. I don't listen to it for the very same reason! Pete |

Yep, the car ads and the mortgage ads on sports talk radio are enough to switch to XM satellite radio. Which is what I did. ;) |

And Cricket on Long wave. The only one I listen to – a way of life in itself
Confession time. I love the Test Match commentaries so much, I record them via Audacity every day from pre-start chat to post finish summary (and the podcasts) and then listen to them again in the winter. Oh dear

Just listen to the call in portions of sports talk radio. Once you hear a couple "fans" call in, you really feel stupid listening to this drivel and change the station. :) It's the same feeling you get watching sitcoms not named Always Sunny in Phialdelphia. |
