I really wasn't sure what this movie was going to be about and neither was my wife. I figured it would likely be a non-stop war flick about the resistance in Russia. My wife just wasn't sure but she was leaning that way as well. We were both surprised at the depth of the movie. Sure, there was plenty of action to be had but the greater part of the movie was about how the Russian Jews survived for 3 winters. They only show 1 winter but that was plenty to get the idea across. I highly recommend this movie for guys and girls alike! It is very heavy but a very good film. John |

Saw about 4 times when I was out of cable and it was the only flick I had around the house. Good movie! |

It is very heavy but a very good film A very good film. Mind you if you thought that was heavy stay away from the Pianist and Downfall both those where what I'd call heavy. |

I really liked the movie also. The movie does a good job also with uniforms and weapons. |

I was also very much taken by this film. Very well written, well-acted, and well-shot. It did develop a degree of emotional depth I wasn't expecting. |

Mind you if you thought that was heavy stay away from the Pianist and Downfall both those where what I'd call heavy. I saw the Pianist. Another good but hard to take film. Never saw Downfall. I actively avoid Sophie's choice as I know what the "choice" entails. As a father, I simply could not handle that! |

I have a bunch of figs to assemble tonight. Maybe I will rent this and watch it. |

Saw it in the theater and liked it. I have picked up an second-hand ex-rental copy, but haven't watched it again yet. |
