In your personal opinion, what is the best TV Dish deal in the USA at this time? No Comcast or Cable for me -- too far out in the sticks. My last Direct TV bill was $85.00 USD -- two receivers -- no HD -- no movie channels at all. Seems rather high. mjc |

Ive been a Directv customer for over 12 yrs now. if you call up and ask for a special deal they generally are very helpfull. i have at the moment all premium movie channels and my currrent bill is less than 1/2 yours. call them and see if they can make a deal for you. the worst they can say is no the worst you can say is "Id like to cancel and take my business elsewhere" Ill bet the least they will do is throw you a free dvr upgrade. |

I don't know what the 'best' deal is. There are 3 sat receivers here (all HD), 2 DVR's, Cin/Sho/Encore and other premiums, and the max channel package (needed to get a couple of 'must haves', such as Natgeo, Science, etc.) Cost is (with $10/month reduction for permanently attached 'phone line) $137. Call each one up and tell them you are talking with the other. See what they have. Just remember that if you get HBO, Cinemax, Showtime and all that stuff that you can't watch them all at the same time. Direct TV has the NFL ticket, if that interests you. You can watch whatever game you want to. Remember one thing. EVERY time you "upgrade", they claim it locks you into a new "contract". The contract is , but enough people believe it, so it's as good as one. I think DTV charges extra for HD. I don't know if the Dish does. I am speaking as a Comcast salesman, and these are the tales of woe I hear every day. |

One other thing. I see a lot of houses with both dishes on them, so a lot of people switch back and forth. Both have lousy customer service, so it makes my job a little easier. So do we, but we are pretending to be concerned about it now. Threatening to leave for someone else SOMETIMES gets you a better deal. I lost a big commission that way this week,. 8^( Then again, sometimes they just tell you to go pound sand. |
