Maybe keep an eye on the answers supplied at this FB site, CC? link And you're not the only one interested in the actress's name: link |

It's definitely not actress Annie Potts. Her voice is too low and gruff. I think Geico scored with this commercial, as it seems like everyone's talking about it, according to the links. And yes, CC, you are sick. (Just kidding, buddy. ) |

Isn't that Margaret Thatcher? |

I don't recall Baroness Margaret having a southern accent All my ad yearnings are vested in Tamara Hope of the Palm Pre ads. |

Yes, it's catchy – just like the Progressive girl's "wit." |

Kind of sounds like the voice of "Sandy" from Sponge Bob (who also did "Cindy Vortex" for "Jimmy Neutron"). Sheesh, can you tell I have pre-teen kids? |

Yes, it's catchy – just like the Progressive girl's "wit." Wouldn't that be a commercial for the ages?: Flo the Progressive Insurance girl versus the pothole. |

It sounds like Jamie Pressly from My Name is Earl. link |

Wouldn't that be a commercial for the ages?: Flo the Progressive Insurance girl versus the pothole. And the guy driving the car in the pothole could be the Geico Caveman |

"It sounds like Jamie Pressly from My Name is Earl." An accent she apparently put some thought into as she didn't want to sound like she came from anywhere specific (and recognizeable). TV and movie accents can be funny things, though. The other accent I recall recently is Brad Pitt's from Blood Diamond. Early reviews cited him for his awful South African accent. Then someone with a broader knowledge of Colonial African accents identified his performance as a spot on Rhodesian accent. It's all in what you recognize. |
