Unbelievable. 4 Head Coaches (if you count Boobah), redefining "Sidleine Chaos".

Bringing Chuck Amatto back? Charles Manson wouldn't be more of a distraction.

They have a loaded team, speed, on paper the best O line in the country, and they can barely compete with bad teams with inferior talent.

Naming Jumbo Fisher Bowden's successor has turned out to be a program ending decision (he is the "managing Head Coach" now, and FSU has gotten worse every year of his prescence)

They will have to pay Jumbo so much money to buy him out, they better hope Bowden never retires.

Thoughts?

Thsi Bowden/Paterno fight for the all time winningest is just getting sad.

Thsi Bowden/Paterno fight for the all time winningest is just getting sad.

I didn't catch the FSU game, so have heard nothing about it. I have not heard it mentioned on any PSU broadcasts. Maybe the "race" is all in Bowden's mind. JoePa seems to be above it. But, can we call it at the end of the season?
I have thought for years that PSU could not put anyone away, and has not been able to come back since Kerry Collins. I think that comes from having an Eldar Statesman as a coach, instead of a mean young punk. I know, I know… Be careful what you wish for.
I would feel guilty if fan pressure made JoePa retire, and he then had a Bear Bryant heart attack and keeled over 6 months later, from the stress of not having any more stress.

I just love watching Bowden's reputation crumble as he clings to the reins. Quarterbacks aren't the only ones who don't know when to quit.

Joe is just too old. Still classy and he doesn't way lay the level of his team's play like Bowden (National Championship quality talent that plays at middle of the pack Conference USA level.

OFM, before the USF game, Bowden decided that he would not see the team before the game, and promised Amato and then Fisher to delivery pre game speech and instructions. The two decided to argue, then fight in front of the team, and they came out with zero enthusiasm and effort, getting stomped at home.

Joe Pa has a second career. He is a popular promoter of the Republican party, and evidently likes public speaking.

BTW, Asked if this was his last season, Bowden said "What would that do for me?" Kinda telling words.

Bobby has managed to turn a Hall of Fame career into a painful, lingering, sad sack ending by clinging to a job (and encouraging that doomed lawsuit that has FSU in the NCAA's sights)that he lost interest in when it became clear he couldn't bequeath it to a son.

BREAKING NEWS! Boobah out at season's end, Jumbo Fisher to get 5 year deal.

I hope they don't wisen up and buy Jumbo out! That program is doomed!

Even better for FSU fans, Bowden sounds like he will fight it.
Film at 11.

OFM, don't think that FSU will improve because Bowden retires. His only role for the last ten years has been figurehead and recruiting tool.

This team is already Jimbo Fishers, along with two "co head coaches" in Andrews and the Devil.

FSU's offense is the exact same one run by Fredo Bowden when he was OC. (the "Jump Bal", QB draw and dive from the shotgun).

They have to pay the five million to run Jimbo off as well.

Then look for a big drop in recruiting in the short term. Bowden, Amato and gang are great at locking down top kids (and lots of flakes and weirdos as well)

I would fire Jimbo Fisher, too. What does FSU see in him?

I am not as much on top of things as you are, obviously.
There is also a bit of schadenfreude in seeing someone like that collapse into a stinking pile of … goo.

I formed my opinion of FSU years ago, oddly enough while watching "Body Heat".
William Hurt says to Richard Crenna: "I went to FSU law school."
Crenna replies with a straight face "Oh, yeah. That's a good school."
I had to laugh at the obvious insincerity in Crenna's voice. I knew NOTHING about FSU at the time, but that scene was enough to form my opinion.
Their chant is annoying too. grin

Maddy is smokin' hot, tho…
